NCIX.COM has the same cpu on sale for $30 cheaper with fan included and a free shirt. They also have a much better selection of fans if you want a better one.

Even if you don't overlock...all that means is once you become CPU bound, you can jack up res, AA and AF

I would rather have a 7800GT and 3000+ than a 4000+ and a 6600GT...

QFT

If your into FPS games and eye candy, IMHO you wanna have the kick @ss vid card. CPU bootlenecking is way overstated for FPS games.

if so, what CPU would you sagest? maybe the 3800? if that?s true i guess i better keep savin.

cpu is not slow... raw clock speed matters much less with athlons than with intel. you're fine.

newegg doesn't ship to canada, the epox is only sold in one store in canada and thats at 165, the same price as the dfi nf4 ultra (which would you get at that price range)

and the cheapest venice in canada is cheaper than 146 after conversion, though we have a federal tax so it ends up being a bit more

isn't that kinda loud?

it's not a little bit. it's a jet engine. I had a smart fan II at full bore and that was still about 15 decibels more quiet than the delta...

For a change of only 4C I replaced it with a 90 mm Medium Speed Panaflow.

Peace at last!

i used a tornado with a fan controller but you should be able to get 2.4-2.6 on stock, the xp-90 would be the best price/performance with a good 92mm fan but i dunno, 40-50 bucks more is still spending money

that was the link i was talking about but couldn't remember the site, at lower res, who cares that a faster cpu can pull out higher fps, your going to roll out 75+ fps anyways

at higher res, an athlon64 socket 939 is perfect

my pc in not in my room, but the monitor and keyboard/mouse is. i just bought some extension cords for my keyboard/mouse and just ran them through a hole in the wall. therefore noise in not a problem because my pc is just sitting in some empty room.

3000+ and a 7800GT is fine.Games really aren't very CPU limited. The video card plays a larger part overall. You can easily overclock your CPU pretty high. You don't need an XP-120 though. The XP-90 cools almost just as well. If the DFI board is the same price than the EPoX, then go for the DFI.

First thing is aviod Tigerdirect. I would also suggest the Epox NF4 board if you want some nice overclocking.
