seriously, im curious what you (those with guns) use guns for?
why should i get a gun?
to rob a bank? to kill my family? to kill my colleagues? to bust a cap every time someone cuts in front?
the only time i see guns being used for the good of mankind is on 24 or Terminator. i havent seen a terrorist in real life nor aware of any SkyNet activities in the hood. i live in southwest philly too! no lie.
Wow, you really have no clue.
If some crazy person is on a rampage like the guy in Alabama and wants to kill me I want to be prepared to make sure that doesn't happen.
Yea, right. It's always about 'preparation'. When you get shot in the back, I'm sure you'll be prepared.
You seem to be cluelessly unaware that there have indeed been incidents were a law-abiding citizen carrying a sidearm and carry permit has stepped in to alleviate the situation. I remember one situation in particular down in east Texas where some dude opened up outside a courthouses and killed a few people. A citizen who was carrying was able to stop further rampage for this murder, however he died in the process of saving the lives of others.
So, yes it is about preparation jackass.
Blow me tough guy. You pointed out one situation (with no links), and that situation ended with the death of the 'hero'.
Read the number of shooting recently in this article:

and then read about how this shooter toyed with a few cops before being taken down:

I love how you all talk so tough, when NONE of you have EVER been in a situation like this. Going up against someone with nothing to lose, prepared to not only kill you, but everyone else around you and ultimately themselves. Armed with automatic weapons, and you think your little handgun is going to stop them? With your few minutes of shooting at paper targets at the local range? Ohhhh, I feel safe now! The cops have a hard time taking these guys down, yet you think you're man enough to do it?
Honestly, I'm way more worried about the endless number of folks who pack heat 'to be prepared' than those who carry out shooting sprees. Everyone thinks they're Rambo.
