Corvettes and Mustangs, along with other domestics are for "< insert typical American insult here >."

The point of this thread is to curb all the haters around here who bash import car drivers and for them to quit bashing domestic car drivers. A car's a car, if you think your preferred vehicle is better, say so using evidence without stereotyping the people who are involved or their cars. And quit with the name calling (specifically ricer). I find all these car debates to be obnoxiously ignorant with no point but to flame on either import or domestic cars. Funny comments are one thing, but ignorance should be kicked to the side. Wake up.

And what would you call 98% of people who mod their domestics. People have their own personal preferences, it's dumb to criticize them for it. If you don't like it, that's cool, but it ain't gonna change what they do.

the above was my ignorant statement... knowing full well of course, with proper suspension work, domestics can be made to handle well... it wouldn't hurt to have a low center of gravity in a light car like *ahem*mycar*ahem* ;)

if you read carefully, that was my ignorant statement :p i didn't say they didn't handle well, but put one next to a stock 99 j-spec (same as the 95 here, pretty much) rx7 next to a stock corvette and see which one handles better on the track :) albeit, you could say take a supra and put it next to a corvette and my argument could be shot to pieces... damn supras... they're like domestic cars in an import body :p

We still seem to be allowed to bash import cars, just not the drivers of said cars. Integras are slow. Civics are slower :)

Hondas seem to be, by far, the msot often abused imports as far as modifications go.

i disagree... they look nice in their own right... (referring to vettes and stangs looking like crap) although i could go without the next gen mustang design, and the current one, and the one before it... but the older ones... they have this... i dunno... i kind of like them...

Why, because they're actually fast? :)

I can call ricers a ricer if I want to freakin' call the ricers ricers. Ricers aren't a race or set of people.. A ricer is anyone that takes a slow car or slow version of a fast car and tries to make it look fast before actually making it fast. Like, if I have a Ford Mustang pony car and put a 3ft park bench wing on the back, a NOS sticker on the side, paint flames all over it, lower it, and then put "Dingleberry Racing" on the window in huge letters without doing a single thing to the engine, then I am a ricer.

BTW, with the foreign and domestic cars.. It's actually a pretty faulty spec. Honda civics just happen to be the most used cars by ricers. But, Dodge Neons, Saturns, and Ford Focuses are also used by ricers quite often.

When we say domestic cars, we usually mean the cars that cost nearly the same as 'ricer' cars but that actually come with a powerful engine. Some of us are just sick of seing wasted effort.

Most people can't afford a Vette or a higher-end Mustang (I'm talking SVT Cobras), but then most people that own them tend to be less ignorant. Knowledgeable import guys tend to be way outnumbered by fartpiping, sticker-slapping ricers.

V6 Mustangs are gutless... just like Civic EXs are gutless. Heck, there's lots of gutless cars out there... doesn't mean squat though.
Not all domestics are dumbass pricks, not all imports are stupid ricers... unfortunately, a good majority of racers are... they never learned respect.
