The report used statistics from Lower Saxony - regarded as an average state - where police saw an increase of 10.4% in reported violent crimes in 2015 and 2016.

Based on figures from the state's interior ministry, which keeps a separate record of alleged crimes by migrants, the report suggested that 92.1% of this increase was attributable to migrants.

Lower Saxony has seen a significant increase in arrivals of migrants in recent years.

But also this.

But it said that many male migrants fell into the 14-30 age category, the most likely to commit violent crime.

So, violent crime going up 10% is a big deal. Germany has low rates to start with, but that is a surge regardless. It should also be kept in mind that these are young men, and, young men commit more crime. The total migrant crime went up 50%. Those are worrying numbers, but the Government looks to be trying to slow it down. So its a big deal, but, not an emergency.

Refugees aren't supposed to integrate overnight. Remember, the ideal outcome would be some measure of peace and stability in Syria/Libya/Sudan so that these people can return home.

We in the US are very, very lucky to have vast oceans and friendly neighbors on all our borders.

I'd be curious to know what your proposed solution be? If you were a German Chancellor, would you rather spend billions on a war for regime change, or millions on a refugee program? Or would you rather do nothing and let the Middle East go to Hell?
