George Zimmerman, the Florida man acquitted of murdering teenager Trayvon Martin, says he lives in constant fear and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.

He also suggested that President Obama helped to inject racism into the controversial shooting in order to win votes for himself during his reelection.

Zimmerman’s comments in a Spanish-language interview with Univision that aired Sunday marked his first public statements since being acquitted of murder in the Feb. 26, 2012 death of Martin.

The Florida jury found Zimmerman not guilty of murdering Martin, 17, after Zimmerman testified that the teenager knocked him down, banged his head on the concrete sidewalk, and then tried to grab Zimmerman's gun.

Zimmerman, 30, told Univision that he lives in a constant state of fear, needing bodyguards and bullet-proof vests, and that he suffers from PTSD. In a separate interview aired today on CNN, Zimmerman said he still gets death threats.

"I have a lot of people saying that, you know, they guarantee that they're going to kill me and I'll never be a free man," he told CNN.

I'd probably change my name, my address, everything. Maybe get minor plastic surgery and then move to a different country.

I'm sure he wasn't thinking of the shit storm he'd create by doing what he did.

Gosh, so the celeb boxing stunt, the paintings, weren't all a cash grab on your infamy?
Fuck yourself Zimmerman.

I actually do feel sorry for him. I have no doubt he would rather none of this had ever happened. Zimmerman has certainly acted stupidly since being acquitted, but I don't think he was ever the sharpest tool in the shed in the first place.

While I can second-guess his own choices somewhat in hindsight, the person principally responsible for the death of Trayvon Martin is Trayvon Martin. Despite this, Zimmerman continues to be vilified by people who bought the media's false portrayal of this case hook, line and sinker.

I have a some sympathy for him. I think he was hosed by bad/sensationalized media coverage. He probably does have PTSD and I'd be surprised if he isn't receiving death threats.

His behavior since the trial makes it easy for me to shrug off my sympathy though.

And you dont think some promoter got him to agree to it based on $$$?

I just thought of a great idea. He could do a gay porn movie with a black man to prove that he is truly unbiased. Imma sure he could get at least a 100k for a movie like that.

No I don't feel sorry for him.

Yes I do think he actually believes that he shouldn't or won't be running scared; the guy has a victim mentality.

PTSD; It's possible but it also is possible and probable that he's saying that to elicit sympathy.

And as far as Obama helping to inject racism into the controversy, please. Racism was inserted into the controversy long before Obama's speech writer was notified to put thoughts to a speech.

My advice, George; wake up and get a clue. Start acting like a responsible citizen and human being!

Not only has he acted stupidly, he's acted violently and recklessly.

Unless you know more facts than we do, not-quilty does not mean innocent.

His trainer as well, if you recall.

Yes, exactly. His trainer said he was weak and couldn't fight. Yet he both managed to punch his father in the law in the face and sign up for a fight with DMX in the matter of months after his trial.

Peculiar huh? Or his trainer was most likely lying.

Isn't it peculiar that the things that he claimed weren't true. Like him and Shellie being one huge happy family. Isn't it even more peculiar she left him the night(if my memory serves right) before he shot TM? Coincidence huh?

I thought he was suing the tv station, MOM was representing him for free, book rights, etc. Truth is he picked fight with 150 scrawny kid, who whopped his ass. Then like a bitch, he shot the kid. In the end no one gives damn about this child killer and only messed up loop hole laws allowed him to walk free.

You know, either an innocent man was found innocent or a guilty bastard got away with killing a kid. But the trial is over, double jeopardy says he can't be tried again, and there is no valid reason we should give a crap about him. Can we please just stop giving him a fucking spotlight and move on?
