Thanks. Got the t-shirt.
Size XL, however. Why do most "free-t-shirt" deals not offer a choice of size??

As for an energy independant USA? Not going to happen.
The united states owes everything to the oil companies. If the oil companies want you to get less mileage per gallon, then your new car will get less mileage.

No initiative in the past 40 years has helped, not even the arab oil embargo.

The only thing that has showed any sign of helping is when people start buying the best fuel efficient cars and letting the big gas hogs sit on the dealers lots.

And it never helps the energy reliance of the USA by putting anybody from the oil industry in Texas in the white house. To close a ties to the middle east.

and I got my shirt today!!!! Nicest product GM has put out since the mid 90's.

The market is very obviously responding to higher oil prices. It's not like the oil companies can force you to buy anything; they want your money, and if that means switching over fuel production, they're going to do it.

However, ethanol isn't the answer; butanol is. Butanol requires no modifications whatsoever to our current engines, no revamping of our supply structure (ethanol is harder to transport than gasoline), and most importantly, butanol has almost the same thermal output as gasoline. (110,000 BTUs for a gallon of butanol, 115,000 BTUs for a gallon of gasoline, and 84,000 for a gallon of ethanol.) Butanol can also be extracted from human waste, which sounds like a great way of re-energizing the US's sewer systems.

I got mine today.

The odd thing is... it came in a non-recycled PLASTIC baggie envelope!
I'm not a tree hugger or anything but that just seemed too funny NOT to comment on.

Oh no, it's NOT dead...

You can now PURCHASE the same shirt for $15.85/ each + $7.50 shipping = $23.35

So, for $23.35 you too can own a shirt that, as Deptacon put it:
that T-Shirt is about as cool as cancer
. :D

Got mine. I'll wear it this weekend while I am burning up a gallon of gas per mile on my boat.

Butanol is very interesting... an order of magnitude better solution than ethanol.

Thanks OP, got mine. Don't know what I was thinking when I ordered and XL though.

"Butanol can also be extracted from human waste, which sounds like a great way of re-energizing the US's sewer systems."

If this is a fact, shouldn't it be called Buttanol?

Do you realize how much value this shirt will lose if I bought it for 25 bucks? I think it would be worse then their crappy vehicles that are about less american than Toyota/Honda.
