I am guessing the problem has something to do with the digital switch over. According to the site in europe they are notifying french consumers of the switch.

The Regedit was nice while it lasted.
Hey Birdd0gger, that is a reasonable speculation, but is not actually correct (for the U.S.) information. It was speculated about when the first problems with Gemstar's Guide Plus + System - ATI first and the death of analog listings prematurely have been proclaimed as far back as 2008. However, this fails to consider that the majority of cable providers in the U.S. are still sending analog signals to their subscribers and will continue to do so for the foreseeable years to come.
Think about all the devices that use GEMSTAR==>Macrovision==>ROVI's EPG (TV's, DVR's, PVR's, DVD Burners w/ built in Guides, ETC.).
http://www.rovicorp.com/dtv/10053.htm (the current owners of Gemstar make no mention of analog guide ending).

Pertaining to the current problem:
On or about December 11-13th, 2009 = everyone who uses GUIDE PLUS+(TM) System - ATI ==> A Gemstar Program provided with ATI's All-In-Wonder & TV Wonder products (is) no longer able to update it's EPG - TV Listings.
The following message is displayed when attempting to get the updates; Message: "Failed to Connect to the Server. Please Check the internet connection and try to download again"
----------
The problem relates to the NEW development; the URL that has been working for Guide Plus to update our computer's Guide Plus + System - for ATI
http://144.198.100.134/gtidl/gdnget2.asp
has (WITHIN THE LAST WEEK), become password protected?
If you paste the URL into your browser you can see this for yourself...
=============================================================
Since December 2008 ~ January 2009 the lookup server has been down/dead\or shut off whether on purpose or unknowingly preventing the program from working automatically upon re-install...keep in mind that ATI/AMD abandoned this software long ago; so it's been quite lucky & (NICE) that it's continued to work at all (albeit with some hoops to jump through starting in Dec2008-Jan 2009).
However, unless someone knows of or gets another URL to edit into the registry like last time, or Rovi unblocks / removes the authentication requirement they have added to the current listings URL we are dead in the water. (It's true that in that past years as we got close to the holidays often Gemstar seemed to go /on vacation/ for a few weeks and after the holidays the updates were restored; but never have I seen them lock down the update server during that time.? New company running the show this could all be a simple error, something done for security reasons while they leave for the holiday (?) unaware that we are still out here relying on that URL etc. etcetera!!!
+++++++++++++++CONTACT/COMMENT\COMPLAINT URL BELOW+++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
HOWEVER, as posted by Averick & mentioned by others at Rage 3d this is the link to CONTACT ROVI:
http://www.rovicorp.com/company/11088.htm
Please take 5-10 minutes to write a complaint to them. I included the following information: That we are using Gemstar's GUIDE PLUS+(TM) System - ATI ; and that the URL that we have been using to get updates (for almost a year now has been locked sometime late last week (about December 11-13th, 2009)
http://144.198.100.134/gtidl/gdnget2.asp
As I stated elsewhere if you value this guide, please take the time today to go to that website and fill in at least the comment section (don't have to provide contact info if you don't want them to reply to you). They or previous owner Macrovision shut off the look up server & unless A: ROVI Unlocks the URL we WERE using for the past year =OR= B: provides directly to some of us VIA email or publishes on their website a new unlocked URL (one that doesn't require authentication) then the program is going to be dead in the water! Titan TV ONLY works with the HDTV Wonder (ATI) for onscreen scheduling & not without difficulties , so if/when this dies, that will be it for an INTEGRATED TV Tuner program and the All-In-Wonders not connected or running through the XP Media Centers EPG.
So again take the few minutes now to show as much support by filling out a complaint text in the online comment section from ROVI - URL listed above ~> for them to straighten out this error.
