I don't think the $999 price is set in stone IMO. I think the preview could likely be a feeler to see how the masses react to the $999 price that's being thrown out there. Then Nvidia will adjust accordingly depending on reactions.

I hope you are right. I would bite at $600-$650, that card look sexy as hell and looks like its going to overclock well too.

Yeah they are hoping you like the pictures and marketing terms so you are prepared to just buy it without noticing how bad of a rip off it is.

three days before launch, the driver was still not ready. Hence NVIDIA decided to split this release up in an announcement (news) to be published today, then this Thursday upcoming we will be allowed to publish benchmark results.

Any product sold at USD 1000 in the PC graphics market is definitely low volume.

the last nVidia high end products which can be considered reasonably high volume is GTX 580 / GTX 680.

What gains are you expecting, exactly? It's the same underlying as the rest of the GK line, pretty much the only changes are the 80hz v-sync and temp/power/voltage regulation.

I think it's great that Nvidia will be supporting a gaming driver for the K20 line. But does the launch of the Titan also mean that the next generation of Nvidia GPU is not coming out for quite some time? I mean given generational improvements the replacement for the 680 would deliver Titan like performance at <$500, right?
