And you suffer from the delusion that you can compare FPS across single and multi GPU solutions just like that...point your finger at yourself.

I can expand the list now.

- Use invented GPU's as "argument"
- Uses false numbers
- Compares FPS between single and multi GPU directly.

If you look beyond his walls of red herrings...his logic is flawed, false or his is lying.

You just show your lack of (reading?) comprehension, give it up. :p

He took the 660ti 's performance and doubled it
He did NOT take the SLI performance of the 660ti
Titan specs out at exactly double the functional units of the 660ti
Hope that helps

So he uses bad math too....thx updating list next time :)

They got it to 1176mhz. Voltage unlocked. I think we are in for a real treat in a couple days!

Nvidia has taken single GPU pricing to a new industry high with USD 1000. this is worse than Geforce 8800 Ultra. If every Nvidia 500+ sq mm from now on is going to be USD 1000 then it sucks.

The lack of competition is one reason for Nvidia to not feel any pricing pressure at all. AMD has to return to what it does best - price performance. With this pricing Nvidia is telling AMD and the industry who is the top dog in graphics.

Ill get a 690 before I even think about a Titan at $1000. So newegg will be selling it for 1099 or even 1199. I can get a GTX 690 for around $850 used. That price difference is worth a little MS.

Well color me surprised - looks like 1.3 TFlops DP is true

So based on a full 15 SMX 2880 shader cores chip the GK110 has 960 DP units linked to its total of 2,880 CUDA cores, that would be 896 DP units on today's tested GTX Titan with 14 activated SMXes.

Double precision wise, to unlock full performance you must open the NVIDIA Control Panel, navigate to “Manage 3D Settings”. In the Global Settings box you will find an option titled “CUDA – Double Precision”, but... GeForce GTX Titan runs at reduced clock speeds when full double-precision is enabled. Still a great option if you are working on CUDA applications.

From Ryan's article: "NVIDIA hasn’t gone into depth for launch quantities, but they did specifically shoot down the 10,000 card rumor; this won’t be a limited run product and we don’t have any reason at this time to believe this will be much different from the GTX 690’s launch (tight at first, but available and increasingly plentiful)"

Well, at least availability won't be an issue then. But how long before the price starts to come down? When AMD releases 8xxx?

AMD ****** up in the HPC market and this is what they get a GPU for the consumer market that they don't really have an answer for

Please keep profanity out of the tech forums.

^ Nvidia's own slides showing Titan 25% faster than a 680, an already overpriced card in the current market @ $500, say they'll take that 25% extra performance and charge another $500 to make it an even $1000.

My avatar is appropriate for this pricing

Those supporting premium pricing have met the mother of all premium pricing.. The Titan.

Am I the only one that thinks this is insane?

Hmm, no benches, no nothing. It should be around 20-25% faster than the 7970GE, so I don't think it's due to performance being underwhelming and I don't see what Nvidia stands to gain from pulling in the launch. Could this be due to low availability?

Yawwwwwn at this PR product from nv. nv are clearly in desperation mode when they have to hype a $1000 520mm product to their mindless minions.
Also, nv are lying pieces of **** if they are trying to claim that this was meant to be the competition to the 7970. It is impossible to have this size of die in the consumer space on 28nm when competing against a product half the price. Im-poss-i-ble. So where is this phantom product that was to compete against the 7970? Or as was obvious to the most of us, was nv actually FoS when they tried to claim the 680 was intended to be a midrange card?? yes, they are absolutely full of ****.

Take a week clean the profanity out of your keyboard.

The only interesting things from previews:
From tomshardware:

1-Pay the same $1,000 for a GeForce GTX 690 if you only want one dual-slot card and your case accommodates the long board. It remains the fastest graphics solution we’ve ever tested, so there's no real reason not to favor it over Titan.
2-The Titan isn’t worth $600 more than a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition. Two of AMD’s cards are going to be faster and cost less. Of course, they’re also distractingly loud when you hit them with a demanding load. Make sure you have room for two dual-slot cards with one vacant space between them. Typically, I frown on such inelegance, but more speed for $200 less could be worth the trade-off in a roomy case.
3-Some BS
4-Buy a GeForce GTX Titan if you have a trio of 1920x1080/2560x1440/2560x1600 screens and fully intend to use two or three cards in SLI. In the most demanding titles, two GK110s scale much more linearly than four GK104s (dual GeForce GTX 690s). Three Titan cards are just Ludicrous Gibs!

Its likely that Nvidia is going to turn the screws on AMD in H2 2013. I suspect wider availability and a lower price around USD 750 - 800 once yields improve. Nvidia might have a fully enabled GK110 too in H2 2013, maybe a GTX Titan Ultra . Also a GK114 with 1920 cc or 2304 cc cannot be ruled out to take clear leadership at USD 500. There is no better opportunity than now for Nvidia to make this a clean sweep from top to bottom. this may turn out to Nvidia's most successful generation ever beating the legendary G80 aka 8800 GTX.

ah at a grand or more, it looks much less attractive. Of course we still need to see more info like benches and stuff. Oh well, back to looking for 7970 deals :\

You mean 10,000 samples rumor that just got shot down?

Even if it was true, that's > $5M of pure cash. Income, not revenue wise.
Or 1/4 or Q4 operating income for entire AMD graphics division.

what Nvidia stands to gain from pulling in the launch.

Uhmm... more than 5M bucks?

Yes, a low volume, ridiculously overpriced card is really going to make the difference.
