While it is a guess, it is quite plausible that unless the DX12 game is Gameworks title, like Return of the Tomb Raider, 1060 wouldn't possibly beat 480. Also, AIB 480 should be on shelves end of this week or so.
Personally, 960 was more compelling a choice as it was the only card which had respectable gaming, plus hardware acceleration for h265 built in. This time around, it's more balanced on all accounts. Gaming is a bit of a draw this time, with future titles most likely going AMD's way. Both have similar hardware acceleration abilities, with AMD offering h265 hardware encoding option on top of it.
If you do like what Gameworks titles that are there, and would come by, then Nvidia is a better buy. As those titles specifically are designed to perform poorly on anything but Nvidia products. However, i personally don't and wouldn't ever support such shady way of doing business, as it hurts us consumers in the long run and so i buy gameworks titles really really cheap, like when they hit $5.

That's just me though, and you're free to make your own mind.
