if this is true, nvidia is in big trouble
it still loses to ATI in the FSAA department
I think most people thought ATi would win with the 256-bit pipe.

I don't doubt their results, its just they are a bit on the "skimpy" side. We're used to benches at 3 or 4 different resolutions with 5 or 6 cards in comparison. This lets you decide what the best solution would be for each individual user. Most people will "Ooooohhh" and "Aaaaahhh" at 1600x1200x32 results but in reality will never use them. The more practical ranges of 1024 to 1280 will be the area of emphasis for most users.

Well, maybe they just wanted to be first out of the gates, generate some hits for their site. Doing more benches would have postponed the article some.
Starting from Monday, 9:00 o'clock: The first GeFORCE FX in the test
At present we work on a test of the first GeForce FX diagram map. The new generation of NVIDIAs diagram chip got high Vorschusslorbeeren in the apron. Undreamt-of performance and innovative technology should distinguish it. But the reality could look differently.

Not really, just shows a lack of thorough testing, unless they got it later than the more reputable sites. Reviewers have had these cards in their hands for weeks, as evidenced from their comments the last few weeks.

looks like nvidia called the NDA upon them. Desperation makes them strike fast.... though I do not know how keeping it away from the public for a day is going to help at all...

I dunno. Turn FSAA on, and I just don't see the FX winning every bench...optimized drivers or not.
