Dell Chat on shipping status of the MSI NX8800GT OC
12/13/2007 09:20:48AM me: "hi, I was just looking to confirm that my orders are shipping today after a rather lengthy delay from the time I ordered"
12/13/2007 09:26:15AM Agent : "I'd like to mention that the items you ordered are non-Dell manufactured item and such orders are directly processed by the vendor. As per the vendor update the item 'GeForce 8800GT 512 MB GDDR3 Graphics Card' is currently out of stock and is back-ordered, the estimated ship date for this item is on or before 01/08/07.
12/13/2007 09:27:19AM Agent : "Do you wish to keep these orders?"
12/13/2007 09:27:38AM me: "Don't you mean 01/08/08?"
12/13/2007 09:28:35AM Agent : "Kindly excuse the typing error, yes that's right, the estimated ship date for the above-mentioned item is 01/08/08."
12/13/2007 09:30:08AM me: "What are the chances the 01/08/08 date is about as accurate as the 12/13/07 date?"
12/13/2007 09:31:41AM Agent : "I won't be able commit or promise an exact date as we are a mail order company and can only provide estimates, also we intend to ship your order as and when the stock is replenished."
12/13/2007 09:31:50AM Agent "So that's an estimate and not a conclusive date."
Well, glad I don't really need these in a timely manor. I was mostly just messing with the poor guy, I know they have absolutely no control over it. I guess if something else comes up, i'll grab it. But, where else am I going to get 8800GTs cards for $218 a piece shipped? Perhaps I'll just swallow hard, and hope they ship some day.
