GeForce 6800 12-->16 pipe softmod (Updated)

IT looks like you are majorly cpu limited, but that first 3dmark score is awefully low for the 6800

Hey guys

I have the RivaTuner RC 15.3 'NY' version. It doesn't seem to be as easy to unlock pipelines on my card as the first post in this thread shows.

I can't just select 12 or 16 pipelines under the NVStrap driver tab, within 'Low-level system tweaks'. For the 'Active pixel/vertex units configuration' I can select 'determined by VGA BIOS' or 'custom'.
There's 2 scripts in Rivatuner for unlocking pipeline masking called NV40BIOSHwUnitsMaskElimintor and NV40BIOSSwUnitsMaskElimintor. If I try to 'continue' when running either script, I get asked for a ROM file... what sort of ROM file does it need? Or don't I have to run these scripts to unlock the extra pipelines and vertex\pixel processing units?

Well, I got my additional 4 pipelines and 1 vertex processing unit running. The weird thing is that while I don't get any artifacts or other graphical corruptions, my benchmark scores have actually dropped since unlocking the masked units. I take it that my card just isn't destined to be able to be properly unlocked then... oh well, I have a mate looking for a reasonable graphics card, so I'll sell him my 6800 NU card and get myself a GT.

Decided that the best way to up my benchmark scores was to get a 6800 GT... has worked wonders

WOOHOO!! i got my evga 6800nu to 16 pipes and 6vp's with absolutely no artifacts or snow. i raised my aquamark score from 5 minutes ago when i tested it with normal settings by 2500 points and finally hit the 50,000 mark

I'm hoping I get similiar results with my eVGA 6800 which should be coming in a week or so. I'm just crossing my fingers about adding the NV5 to it though.

i recently received my BFG geforce 6800 OC (free farcry game0. I got a score of 9567 on 3dmark03 right out of the box. The i used rivatuner and enabled the pipes and vertex shader. With it i got a score of 10495!!. And i still havent overcloked!!!!
