Sitting here crying I am so grateful…. I can pay my insurance premiums & copays, my rent & OTC care needs. I might get an inexpensive recliner so I can sit more comfortably In the living room & stay awake more.

thank you all for blessing me ❤❤❤
It's not to late to make everyone's day by kicking Red in the junk. Just a thought.

All kidding aside, do you really think this fundraiser would be happening if I could raise my leg high enough to kick anyone without falling & cracking my head open? 😢 I know you guys are kidding but please stop, it hurts my heart

The Pallative care team is one of the few groups of people I can speak frankly with. People who don’t flinch when they hear the word “ death” are strangely comforting to me. When we talked about my final arrangements I told her I want to be cremated & my ashes placed in a tiny Viking boat & one of my pagan friends to use a flaming bow and arrow to set it afire. I also want plenty of beer & food & music I loved. She laughed and said “ you want a celebration of your life”, yes, yes I do ❤
That's a great plan :beercheers:

My company approved my FMLA….they have been so good to me. I really made the right decision to decide to work for them almost 20 years ago. Very grateful ❤
for those keeping track, yesterday I ate a bunch of good cheese and crackers…I love cheese ❤️ Also had another slice of cherry pie & 2 bottled waters.

Peanut butter saltine crackers.

edit: Ah, Family and Medical Leave Act. That's fantastic GB.

Does anything suggested by the palliative care team help?

yes, I am using Tylenol a bit more ( I try to watch it to protect my liver) the Voltaren gel is helping a bit, always having a water bottle near is helping too

I don't like Tylenol. Just doesn't work for me. Have you tried ibuprofen or naproxen?

Ibuprofen aggravates my guts ( I have colitis) I take it when pain is really bad but I have to be careful or I spend the day in the restroom. It’s a shame really because I respond well to Ibuprofen in terms of pain management

An OTC analgesic that is directly related to ibuprofen. Ketoprofen.

I used to take it for migrains's since the advil didn' work very well.

When my mom was dying of liver and colon cancer, she refused to take opioids for the pain. The doc gave her ketoprofen. Seemed to help somewhat.

I used to prefer to take Naproxen (Aleve) myself but it started causing me serious stomach problems. Then when I was put on blood-thinners by my MD I had no choice but to stop using it completely. (same with all NSAID's)

Acetaminophen (Tylenol/Paracetamol) isn't nearly as effective especially for headaches but its the only OTC pain reliever I can take these days without getting "heartburn from hell" symptoms and stomach-related abdominal pain.
