On the flip side of the coin I see this passage in the bible which says "As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be when the Son of Man comes" and when I look at the conditions that were present guess what one of them was? I'm just saying that I see a general trend in the wrong direction as demonstrated by peoples behavior that will only worsen with time.

Of course you do because you've been indoctrinated to believe that your whole life. People have been making the exact same claim as you for literally thousands of years, and yet, somehow no rapture, no armageddon, and we found out that many of the acts of god from the bible were natural phenomena.

You know now that you bring it up there are also some other reoccurring biblical trends that are present in our society such as slothfulness and fullness of bread (fat and lazy).

Oh no! Whatever will we do?

Er, you're using weird phrasing, kinda like you don't understand the meaning of the words you're using. Flip side of the coin? Except, what you posited wasn't a flipside of a coin to what people were talking about. And I didn't bring up lazy and fat people.

What is er? Webster's says that ER is the abbreviation for the emergency room so can you please clarify for your reading audience, be specific please, whatever do you mean by that? Thank you.

Some ancient dude sees kids on his lawn and writes out some long screed of Doom and Judgment. Thousands of years later some dude reads the screed, sees kids on his lawn, and fears the coming Doom and Judgment.

Ahh, Puffnstuff, there's your problem: you get your worldview and your "morals" (marching orders, really--divine command theory cannot and does not ground morality) from a collection of people who thought the sky was a solid dome with holes in it and wondered where the sun went at night.

Until you have a worldview that aligns with reality, nothing is going to change for you. I will leave you with this thought: when the guy doing the saving is the guy you're being saved from, that is not a "free gift;" that is a Mafia protection racket, and I am Sicilian enough to know one of those when I see one.

Azuma are your ring fingers longer than your pointing fingers, the pattern typically seen in men, or are your pointing fingers longer?

Gays and lesbians will only disappear once straight people stop having gay (and lesbian) kids. :D

Usually when a thread about homosexuality has gone on for this long, the posters are debating the nature and/or origin of the universe by this point.

Well now that you mention it I do recall seeing something somewhere addressing your particular view....hmmm what was it? Oh yes it was this:
2 Peter Chapter 3
3
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Seriously, anyone that doesn't include a "and they're totally going to call out my bullshit" clause in their actual bullshit is a moron. People will argue about anything, so the only reason no one would ever call them out is if no one had ever heard of them, in which case their reputation loses nothing because they don't even have a reputation to lose. On top of that, when does any group need unity the most if not when they're being resisted and mocked? By making the easiest self-fulfilling prophecy in the world you give your movement something to rally around exactly when it needs it the most, and there is no down side.

OP, you need smarter friends, your 'friend' is an idiot, not to mention a homophobic bigot.

I don't see anything bigoted or homophobic about discussing genetics or evolution. There were no moral judgements made in the OP's post, so you saying he is homophobic or a bigot is clearly wrong and shows that you in fact, not the OP, are a terrible person. If you want to point out why he is wrong, please, do that.

Maybe you need smarter friends, who can rub off on you. Simply discussing something, or hypothesizing about something, does not mean a moral or ethical judgement has been made. You can talk about the methods used in the Holocaust, that doesn't mean you have made a moral judgement or show of support for it - merely that you are examining it.

In closing, go fuck yourself, you're the bigot.

You know we all disagree with other people every day about a myriad of different things but that doesn't give us the right to condemn them over it. I believe that homosexuality is wrong on so many different levels but I still have respect for the persons who practice it while I speak out against the act itself. Yes I've had gay friends and coworkers and I treated them the same as I would anyone else. We've all heard the old adage "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks" which is a euphemism for "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". What's the difference between them being gay and you being fat or smoking? They are all lifestyles that have an adverse affect on the person practicing them.

Wow. Just...wow. You know, that same anthology of Iron-age pornography says you can get two white goats to have spotted kids by making them stare at a stripey stick while you breed them. I have to wonder what your criteria are for what you do and don't accept on its face...

As to lifestyle...no, buddy. Smokers choose to smoke. (Most) fat people got that way because they choose to overeat and/or not practice good nutrition. I did not choose to be a lesbian. It'd be easier overall if I weren't one, but it wasn't a choice.

If you don't believe me, here's a thought experiment: try to make yourself gay. Right here, right now. Try and will yourself to like men and only men, and have no native attraction to women any longer. I don't mean suppress your feelings for them; I mean by pure force of willpower eradicate them entirely, such that not even your autonomic nervous system reacts to a pretty woman anymore, but does attract you to other men.

The only reason it has adverse affects are because of people like yourself. You say you're not throwing stones yet you literally are condemning them. That's what you don't get. Just because you're not burning a cross on their yards or calling them slurs or otherwise doing especially heinous things, doesn't mean you're not condemning them. You can't say "you're wrong for existing or feeling like you do" and then claim you're not judging or condemning them.

Also I've confessed to taking it in the butt.

I took it up the butt once from my doctor when he was doing a sigmoidoscopy.

I think I put my life in danger when a told him "Now I know what a fucking bratwurst feels like" and he busted out laughing :p

He was a pretty cool doc I haven't even been to one in a long time, he was a former green beret paratrooper.

He told me never to become a doctor with all the paperwork and insurance involved, even trying to make a decent living solo a doctor seems fucked up for a long time now.

I just told him then I doubted I would ever be going into the medical field, he had his own practice in about 3 clinics and was doing well, I hope he is happy and retired now.

It is really bad times when a good doctor that was around upper middle class is run into the dirt a long time now.

I doubt he was even considered upper, he is/was a good guy though.

Haven't seen him in a while.

Liberal conspiracy to indoctrinate people into becoming gay? :p

I actually think the Docs male assistant might have been gay, but he was cool also.

The Docs wife ran the reception room and admin, she was pretty hot actually.
