Pride day is an official, set day more or less. Like Christmas. Though, i think like Easter, it maybe hovers from one weekend to the next depending on the year--say end of June or beginning of July. Probably has something to do with when the chaps market is on a bubble.

More specifically, they are coverings supposed to be worn over jeans but, during gay events, they often worn without which exposes the ass. Despite "ass-less chaps" being common, all chaps are assless.

i would postulate that necky is a mod alt, designed to raise traffic to the website by polarizing it's constituency, much the way they had dennilfloss create then kill a character to raise website traffic.

Once traffic has been increased, i suspect Hal will be 'permabanned' over something.

And I am still sternly supporting my position that neckbeard is living in America, just too many holes in his stories regarding "visiting America" a few times to know a lot about it. And that he's an RBM.

If they wanted to raise the site's traffic, they'd merge the forums back together again. Really, that's ALL they had to do.

they're fun if you have people to hang out with. I'm not really into parades (gay or otherwise) but I've been a couple times and most of the enjoyment comes from hitting the bars/parties after the official events.

last year, a friend and I were supposed to go together and I had scheduled the day off of work for it... he bailed on me at the last minute and I decided to go anyways since I'd already taken the day off, but it was pretty lame by myself. I just walked around feeling bored and lonely for like half an hour before bouncing and going back home. (this was also NJ's pride parade... if it was the NYC parade, I probably could have posted something on facebook and found a dozen ex-hookups in a 2-block radius to hang out with)

it varies between cities and countries. it's traditionally on the last weekend of June, but there seems to be a hierarchy. like, obv. NYC gets dibs on the traditional date, so NJ has to schedule theirs differently so that people can go to both. I think Toronto and Montreal are in the same situation (where Toronto gets the last weekend in June and Montreal gets the end of July/August)

That was a slow reaction. 🙂

Let me just state that bringing along dildos and displaying sexual acts is to much. Fun for the parents with young children who where thinking of having a nice day out. Fun for people who just wanted to see a parade.

I cannot compare it with for example such as Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
Or even the flower parade in the Netherlands and in Belgium.


The prides i have seen (not many, but i do watch the news and i have friends who take pictures) are just always the same a lot of women and men on a car or a boat dry humping away. It is boring.

parades aren't really my thing, but the few that I've been to seem to have more groups marching like pflag or gay churches or gay parent groups than the assless chaps brigades.

It is still boring. It never changes. I would not mind seeing some really nice stuff for once that is not dipped in sexuality at a gay parade. But there lies the issue does it not ? No creativity.
