Gave up on the Nvidia 352.86 drivers

My Titan Z just does not like the drivers. I've tried a few clean installs over the past week or 2 and no third party utilities. Pretty much I just get random driver stopped responding errors and screen blanking. Ultimately I just reverted back to the previous whql's and my stability is back.

This is the first time in a long while that a driver has gotten the best of me.

Kepler is sooooo old!!! Did you expect nVidia to support it forever?!!! 😛

Was there something specific you were looking for a fix for in new drivers? If not, then no real reason to upgrade right? Heck, I was running Witcher 3 with Cats 14.6!! Basically year old drivers!

Does this happen while playing games or just cruising the desktop?

I've had some issues with Witcher 3, but since they updated the game to 1.04, it's been smooth with no issues.

You missed this thread. The driver is definitely buggy. I had random reboots with Titan X just using Chrome, went away after reverting to older drivers.

The 352.86 drivers are terrible imo. Driver crashing on internet browsing on Titan X's.

This is with a clean install of the drivers using DDU.

These drivers are awful. Nvidia has worked their way back to having crashing with flash/driver acceleration in web browsers like they used to.

The only way I can game with these drivers is not having a web browser open in the background. Web browser + 3D game = crash.

Yeah agree, good thing for forums as it saved me time from troubleshooting. I'd always assume Nvidia had plenty of test systems that go through automated tests for at least common scenarios (crashing on web browsing, come on), but guess not. I'm now pretty hesitant to install new Nvidia drivers, especially with multi-monitor where I lose all control panel settings or black screens on driver upgrade so always fresh install now. Well, the free Witcher 3 was worth the hassle for latest driver 🙂

I'm not a fan of 352.86 either. Far Cry 4 stopped responding two times in one fairly short gaming session with these drivers. Never had an issue after multiple and much longer sessions prior.

Have them paired with a GTX 780. Been working perfectly since the 18th when they dropped (games, Chrome - whatever). I can't remember the last time I had any issue with GPU drivers (Nvidia or AMD). Four or five years? Both camps have performed well for me.

First time I have "driver stopped responding" since my 560ti...but overall they're stable so far and no crashes in my games.

I havent had any issues with my GTX 770. But I have been having issues with flash\chrome crashing across all platforms(nvidia, AMD, intel GPUs). I think flash in general is just a pile o crap.
