I used DDU before installing my 970, And still had issues, But at first I thought it was maybe something left over from my old AMD drivers. After I re-installed windows this fixed it. But the driver does crash sometimes in Witcher 3. I think it has something to do with changing power phases. After it is loaded hard and then eases up. Also I noticed MSAA problems in Hitman Absolution, For some reason if it rains you get a weird block following you around that makes everything the block goes over look weird, It acts much like the weird block in GTA 5 with AMD cards using MSAA. But if you turn off MSAA the game looks normal again. The whole reason I passed up buying the R9 290 was because of AMD's drivers being so bad. But it now looks like Nvidia has gotten almost as bad. They must have hired some really dumb driver devs during my absence with team green.

I'm still using the 344.80 drivers on my 980. I've been looking to upgrade, but these don't have any major issues and I see lots of complaints on all of the newer releases. I can live without a few extra fps if the driver is reliable.

I had posted a thread some couple months ago pertaining to the earlier driver and a "sticking" power-state with AfterBurner also installed for 2x SLI. Notified NVidia. Communicated with NVidia. It seemed that they were going to address a problem that I shared with some other -- not all -- GTX 970 users.

I installed the new driver subject of this thread. At one point, there was a the sticking power-state again after game play -- previously resolved by simply uninstalling AB. Then, "driver stopped working but recovered." Then -- a BSOD during game play that led me to review BIOS settings.

Damn!
