Indeed (click):

OC model. AMD offers nothing high end and even though Kepler was irritating, well games need to be played. This card is seriously fat though, buts right up against the Noctua fan clips, and I mean sexy time close.

A wallet ravaging equivalent of $570 USD. That said, it was $200 cheaper than what I paid for my 780 Ti GHz and $350 or so cheaper than a 1080. And to be fair, this is 980 Ti level performance but not at $1K prices over here.

That's not giving up, it's hash tag winning bruh.

If I waited till Christmas, I could have squeezed an extra $100 off, but eh. Will polish off the Witcher DLC now, then either Deus Ex or Doom. HEVC decoding is purring along too. Mmmm.

Congrats, enjoy it. That price is crazy tho, but if you can afford it, why not? Where do you live that prices are so expensive?

Australia, mate. If it ain't 25% more it can't be sold here. ;)

Still will hammer it with some gaming. Can't really complain. This is one of the top 1070s.

EDIT: Goes for game prices too. Deus Ex upcoming is near $90, off a key website is 50% off just like that.

Enjoy

Pascal is basically Maxwell perfected, which isn't a bad thing considering how great the Maxwell architecture was and still is..

Gave the Witcher III a spin, clock hit 2GHz which is very impressive out of the box. Seeing as I forgot the Afterburner command PrtScn crashed it though with Nvidia's Network service falling over. Heh. Otherwise its tip top.

In this instance it does, roughly 30% more performance for almost the same price 600+ when stock stabilizes for the 1080. 570 for a 1070 is far from a good deal, unless OP lives outside the US.

He said he lives in Australia. Also mentions in his area 1080 is $300+ more.

I am waaay too relaxed today, and yes I completely ignored that fact, so all in all OP has made a good deal all things considered.

I broke down and ordered a 1070 G1 for $400 with the coupon from Jet. Fans quit working on my 290. XFX is sending a replacement cooler though, so I may send the 1070 back or sell the 290 on ebay depending on the timing of everything.

Gave the Witcher III a hammering today:

That is everything turned up, with Hairworks for Geralt only. 60FPS is usually achievable, but enough rain/FX will drop it.

what resolution? 60fps cap? Think I'm going to have to install witcher again and check out fps. should be getting more than that with a 1070 I'd think.

1070 is pretty bad card compared to other x70 cards. Its way overpriced and cant reach x80 card performance after OC.But nothing better exist. Its just NV monopoly.
I dont like this card, but i still buy it, because monopoly.
AMD dont have anything close to that performance.
Sad.

Btw i like GTX670 way more and even GTX970 3.5GB was better because you can OC it to 1500/8000 and you have GTX980 performance.
You cant do this with GTX1070 and i hate that.I hate even more, that Nv have real GTX1070 with 2048SP and 4xGPC, but they dont want it sell it in desktop.

1200p, Vsync'd to 60FPS. Point is you can't sustain a solid 60FPS. This is with Ultra post processing and Ultra graphics with Hairworks on Geralt only. Backed by a 5930K @ 3.7GHz.

If you want 1080 performance, buy a 1080. 670, 770, and 970 are now obsolete. Its the way it is.

Who cares they are now obsolete.GTX670 was better card in every way Than GTX1070 is now.
When OC they were 15% faster than GTX680.Customers get far better performance/money with GTX670 than with GTX1070 now.
Nv have Monopoly and thats why i buy IT.That dont make 1070 good card.

OC'd GTX 670 was never, under any circumstances,15% faster than stock GTX 680's.

5% faster than reference stock 680's. I see the point you're trying to make but let's not start exaggerating and making stuff up.
