quote from sciflicks site
The Gattaca building (interiors and exteriors) is, in reality, the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael, CA. It was designed by American star architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1957. The largest Wright design ever constructed, it was largely built after his death in 1959. The central dome (prominent in the roof-cleaning scene) contains the county library.
and yes very nice movie

Interesting.

I don't know why so many people say they liked the movie. To me, it was average at best, I wouldn't watch it a second time.

I saw it a few times, and I think it's really good. I need to get the dvd. It's not the best movie ever, but it gets you thinking.

no one exceeds their expectations, and if they do, then that means their performance wasn't properly gauged in the first place

my fave part is when the older brother(police) found out about the younger bro's lies and called him out and then,
forgot who challenged who, but they decide to swim again, and younger bro wins again, and he has to help out his bro from drowning. very touching, maybe cuz i have an older bro too.

So no one can find him and work out that the other guy in space isn't Jerome. It was kind of a gift to him. He sacrificed himself for the other guy.

Very touching film imo.

"You want to know how I did it? This is how I did it, I never saved anything for the swim back!"

also, i believe his older brother offers the challenge.

Good conceptual science fiction. Saw it at the theatre, though the place was almost empty. Gawd forbid a movie should make one think. ;)

Actually no, he killed himself because he realized that perfection is unattainable and got depressed. I kept this in mind last time i watched the movie and noticed a few little clues he gives throughout the film. He was planning on killing himself all along and it had nothing to do with Vince.
