Yes, it is actually. I can't see living anywhere else personally.

QFT. Hawaii sounds good though

I'd go nuts living on an island. Don't get me wrong, Hawaii is paradise but I'd go nuts living there for more than a year or two at most. Besides, you think CA is expensive...and liberal? You ain't been to Hawaii!!!

Did you do a search for "gas" before posting this?

Don't like it, drive less.

you are an ass.

Given your grammatical skills, i think you meant to say, "u am an ass."

Not be even more pedantic, but...sux == sucks. Gas prices really sucks? Also, wasnt is singular past tense for was not. This means you are asking, "Was not gas prices supposed to go down?" You could ask, "Wasnt the price supposed to go down?" Or "Werent prices supposed to go down?" Out of curiosity what do you do for work? Slaughterhouse? Dig ditches? What?

Why are you so patronizing? No, I do not work at a slaughterhouse or dig ditches. However, I have friends who work at slaughterhouses and they work hard to take care of their families. A person should not judge others by their work. So, I am offended by your statement.

Also, who cares whether I spell something correctly or if my grammar is incorrect? I am not preparing a professional report or submitting an article for peer review. I am posting a message on an internet forum.

You must not have a life. Does it really help your ego when you are correcting someone? Further, if you were grammatically pedantic shouldn?t you use an apostrophe when you spelled wasn?t.

Anyhow, I have several graduate degrees and I work as an analyst. You may have many more degrees, I do not care. Since, I am just happy that I am not like you, a condescending a-hole.

Blocked me on PM? Surely that is a mistake. No problem. Here is my reply:

Advanced degrees? Working as an "analyst?" Thats interesting. So, would you mind if i shared your grammatical skills with some colleagues. We have been discussing the horrid nature of the current american educational system graduates. Mainly focusing on how so few have the basic ability to use proper grammar or develop a cogent argument and support it in written form. Do you happen to have any essays you wrote in "college" i could share? That would be great. So, just to clarify, by "several graduate degrees" you mean a masters right? Or by advanced do you mean "advanced past high school"? If you mean masters, your thesis would not be a good example to share since im sure that it was heavily edited by your adviser(s). Something written solely by you would be ideal. Thanks a lot!

YOU ARE A PIECE OF CRAP WHO LOOKS DOWN ON PEOPLE WHO WORK AT SLAUGHTERHOUSES OR DIG DITCHES. BUT FOR A PERSON WHO LOOKS DOWN ON THE SO CALLED UNEDUCATED YOU FORGOT TO CAPITALIZE "I" IN YOUR SENTENCE, YOU FORGOT AN APOSTROPHE IN THAT'S AND IN A PREVIOUS POST YOU WROTE, "Not be even more pedantic," HEY MORON, PEDANTIC IS AN ADJECTIVE, WHERE IS YOUR NOUN, ALSO, HOW IN THE HELL IS YOUR PHRASE A SENTENCE? READ IT OUT LOUD! YOU NEED HELP MORON!.

YOU NEED TO GET YOUR SORRY ASS KICKED. YOU TRY TO USE COMPLICATED WORDS TO SOUND SMART BUT YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ADJECTIVE AND A NOUN.

LAST, I DID NOT BLOCK YOUR PRIVATE MESSAGE BY MISTAKE CLOWN I DID IT ON PURPOSE AND YES I WOULD MIND IF YOU SHARED MY WORK WITH YOUR PEERS. BTW, YOUR COLLEAGUES HATE YOU.

Edit-Traffic is so bad along the 15 freeway in San Diego that taking the train and cycling to work took me the same amount of time as driving. Currently, it takes me about 20 minutes to drive to work on a good day, longer if traffic is bad or there's an accident. It takes me about 40-45 minutes to bike to work regardless of traffic.
Have you ever been to rural America? Not everyone can live near where they work. Most places are not bike friendly. A lot of places use interstates as their main highways. That's a big no-no on a bike.

can we sticky a whine about gas prices thread, seems like we have one every time it hits 3 dollars, we'll have a lot more when it's 4 dollar or 5 later this year

Jumped to $3.89 for regular overnight so $4 is already here.

More like $5 Memorial Day.

I pretty much suck at grammar but that (bolded) sentence doesn't look right - like it shouldn't have been started with 'Mainly'. Also, you missed an apostrophe in 'I'm' and didn't capitalize American or 'i' in your sentences when referring to yourself.

You need to climb down off your high horse and get a life.

I'm not all that old, but when I was filling up my motorcycle the other day it hit me as sad that it cost as much to fill up as my Mom's car did when I drove it in high school.

To each their own, but given the choice between California and Alaska, I'd take the latter.. and I *hate* cold weather.

No matter how much some of you want to argue against it, suburban sprawl IS A PROBLEM.
The most efficient way to build is up, not out. Americans simply don't want to live that way, so they pay the price.

Gas is around $3/gallon for regular here, with a price fluxuation of around $.10/gallon.

I drive more miles than the vast majority of people on this forum. When I'm out in the field I drive around 300 miles a day, for work of course. Only a portion of this mileage is reimbursed by my associate, the rest I write off on taxes. Sure I'm spending more than I ever have on fuel, but I'm also making more than I ever have at my chosen profession. It's a calculated trade off, everyone makes them on a daily basis. For most of America this gas trade off has been calculated and the decision has been made to pay more for gas. Instead of actually lifting a finger to try and change something (aka, a lifestyle), people just bitch about it.

I actually ran out of gas on the highway at like 1AM last night (er, this morning) and had to huff it to a gas station like a mile a way (luckily I happened to run out right by one). I was glad to pay $2.XX for gas. I know this sounds like a stupid thing to do, but my parents recently had the fuel pump in the car replaced and the needle used to go down further so I thought it had more gas than it actually had...then when I got back to my car I went to the nearest gas station and put 10 gallons in.

im using my bicycle more and more, and luckily all the groceries are within a mile, and work is by bike too.

but i fear when im all done with school and my job is 30+ miles away, and then gas becomes an issue. ive seen people spending half their paycheck on gas alone, it really bites

Calling shens on that. If not, those people are idiots! It's not that much higher which means they were spending an insane amount before.

Sweet! I'm staying home to watch Formula One racing and the Indy 500 that weekend. Might take a couple extra days off just to relax and enjoy myself. I have some home improvement projects I'd like to take care of as well. Maybe do some surfing too.

Never say never. The speculators driving up the gas prices like making money on the short side too.
