Gas Prices Drops...

Sure, the low prices will increase demand and prices will go back up. We need an additional guzzler tax. Or a tax credit for people who drive fuel-efficient cars.

I wouldn't mind so much if the focus was trying to get people to utilize their local economies. Save the planet my ass... I just want to make sure there's local work for everybody so that local economies are self-sustaining and don't have to rely on foreign goods and transportation.

LOL!

Not surprising. Anybody who thinks low gas prices are bad in anyway shape or form is a moron.

thats an odd thing to say. the downturn in the economy has force the decline in gas prices as the demand goes down. if it goes down too far, we risk deflation. you'd have to be a moron to want that.
we need an upturn in the economy, and that upturn would force demand and raise the price of gas. i would rather pay a little more for gas and have a stronger economy.
but i guess thats moronic.

I thought I heard Obama say the exact opposite of this. That it was suggested to him, but there would be no way in hell he would do it.

I think Tom Brokaw mentioned it during an interview, but Obama said something along the lines of, "Now isn't the time to do something like that."

He has to wait until January 20th at the very least. 😉

That is indeed what I was referring to. Same interview where he tried to bust his chops about smoking.

So, I guess "no way in hell" wasn't accurate at all...lol. But he definitely didn't say he wanted to do it.

lol low gas prices cause deflation? so if you pay more for gas it will strengthen the economy? Man you fail at understanding causation and correlation.

The only down to low gas price is that there are more cars on the road now then when gas was $4 per gallon.

It's too bad gas is still 71 cents a liter here, when it should be around 40 cents like the states, talk about getting raped in every possible way 😀 Oh wait, we have free health care right, that's the arguement always used vs everything that is wrong with Canada. You guys do realize it's not really free right? 😀

Don't worry, soon we'll have "free" health care too.

..I'm still paying nearly 4.00 a gallon for propane. It's usually well below the price of gas. Back in january it was about 1.70 a gallon.

Good Lord, 71 cents a liter? No wonder you can't afford 6 bucks in late fees. Fuck you Blockbuster, I gots to get gas!

It just seems that, in general, as the price of gas goes down (to a point), people would feel better about driving more, thus needing more gas, thus purchasing more gas, thus pumping money back into the economy. Granted, I realize this only works when you find that happy medium of earning a good profit without screwing people over, whether it's $2.20 a gallon, or $1.15, but the idea is still there.
