Nothing different. It'll just spike up again.

Here is how it works:
1) Price Rape! Everyone goes nuts, complains about arabs, etc
2) Prices dip a little bit, mild relief but still higher then before, the rabble trickles down to a grumble
3) Go to step 1.

Its never going back down, but it won't go straight up.

I'd fill up my 5 gallon gas can just so I could pour the whole thing out on the street. Maybe see if I could light up a BTTF-style set of tire tracks.

When the gas speculation and bubble burst, prices may fall down to $3 but I don't think you'll ever see $2 gas again.

Living in the city and being able to walk to work and everywhere, I don't drive a very much now, so things wouldn't change very much.

I would buy gas in bulk and sell it for less then the gas stations when it goes back up.

1: Buy cheap gas in bulk
2: Gas prices rise
3: Sell back gas cheaper then new price in gas
4: .....
5: PROFIT!

probably not change much. i've got a lease so I will have my truck for the next 2 years any how. I don't drive much I've put ~8500 miles on in the past year and a half.

Thousands of stations across the country just spent a ton of money upgrading their pumps to pump beyond $3.99

I'm not going to change anything in the short term.

I drive what I have to drive when I need to do so.

It'll help me save money, that's for sure.

And I WILL get a higher MPG vehicle for my next purchase once this one has reached it's end of life.

I don't think gas will ever be cheap and plentiful again, barring some 'discovery'. So, in the absence of news to that, I'll continue to try and be conservative, even if the prices drop down a bit in the short term.

As long as we keep blocking off-shore drilling, oil shale development, and places like ANWR, no it won't be cheap and plentiful again.

I wouldn't change anything, but I would pay particular attention to the MPG of the next car I buy, and I would make sure not to ever buy a house that is too far from where I work. Even if the current high gas prices are partially fueled by speculation, they do show us how dependent we have become on oil, and how bad it can potentially get if gas prices get too high. I don't want to willingly put myself into a position that would make me especially vulnerable to high gas prices, such as buying a very fuel-inefficient vehicle or living really far away from work.

would you change if you drove with a clown?
would you change if your car was brown?

If prices went back down to $2 chances are truck and SUV resale values would probably rebound. I'd take that opportunity to dump my truck and get something small and practical.

The only change will be buy an a lottery ticket or two when I fill up. So far, the only change I made is cut driving around for pleasure.. not really because gas is too much, I just don't feel right doing it anymore.
Yeah and I do drive an SUV too 16-17MPG, but I posted before how gas price going up by a dollar costs me $400 a year. I am not going to complain about that, I spend more at the bar in 2 months.

Do you not buy groceries? Food prices have increased a lot due to high gas prices.
