gas prices down for the - now 35th straight day - now under $3.71

Text

i have a feeling a lot of people will go back to their wasteful ways, and buy big SUV's.
people have such short term memory and are so quick to forget, and basically irresponsible.

personally, i will continue to drive my current vehicle and my next car will be even more fuel efficient.

basically, have we learned our lesson, or are we quick to forget?

I didn't change my lifestyle to begin with. I wouldn't have to until gas got to $8, and even then it'd be minor.

Filled up for $3.89 today (89 octane). My car is paid for so it wouldn't make sense to go finance a car that gets better game mileage and have car payment, higher insurance and still have to pay for gas.

Right now I get around 22 in the city and 31 on the highway. Not bad for a 280HP V8. I seldom drive quickly though.

I'd probably try to stick to the reduced-driving that I've gotten accustomed to since gas rose over $3.

I haven't changed to begin with so I'm guessing I wouldn't changed either if the prices dropped to $2/gal.

I used to bike to work a lot. My office was 1 mile from my condo. Sometimes I wouldn't buy gas for months.

Nothing would change but the amount of money I would have to spend to fill up. I would keep my honda accord and drive it until it can no longer be driven.

I wouldn't change anything. I don't like to drive, and I don't do it much anyway. Work, class, or grocery shopping, that's about it.

I wouldn't buy a new car or something. I might drive a bit more, but I severely cut my gas use so going back up a bit would still be lower then pre-$3/gal gas.

Take mass transit to the new job, I drive the 3 miles round trip each day, so i drive like maybe 25 miles/week. car gets 17ish miles to gallon in the city. I fill up maybe once a month? Gas prices no longer affect me directly. So, I would change nothing.

Nothing. I will do nothing different. I haven't done anything different since gas was $1.50 a gallon. I drive my gas guzzler when I want.

But I live in a metro area. Fuck gas prices, parking is what's expensive, so I don't drive to work in the city. It also doesn't hurt that my apartment is a block from the metro and my office is accessible without even going outside of the station, same line (no transfers).

I don't feel all that bad for the people that decided to move 20 miles south or west of DC, where the commutes have been horrific for as long as I've lived here. Enjoy that half an acre, folks.

I wouldn't cry as much when I filled up my diesel which is usually $140 to fill up. 🙁
Sucks because when I bought the damn thing diesel was cheaper then gas.

I never went AWAY from my wasteful ways and still drive my SUV.

I don't have a car at the moment (work within walking distance of home) and I bike everywhere else but when I do decide I need a car, I will buy the most fuel efficient car I can afford.
