what does a resurfaced disc look like. I don't think I have ever seen one. Unless it's a disc which has tons of streaks going outward.

I hope this doesn't happen to me when I pick up Crysis 2, which I also preordered online....

in this case, the preorder box comes with 2~3 keys that gives you goodies in game. if it is the collector's edition, it comes with early access and "open" beta keys.

Yes. I'm not a big preorder person either but in this case I made an exception.

lol... I just checked their website. Plastered all over their front page are games with hot pink "In-Store Pickup" near their prices. If the OP's story is truth, then those workers are a bunch of ignorant douchebags.

Ideally you can't tell. If the top of the disc has painted-on artwork (think like a DVD movie), odds are it will be chipped or worn in some fashion.

Sometimes the goobers at the warehouse would forget to reset the hub diameter when doing GC discs after doing a bacth of Xbox/PS2 and we'd end up with a box of unreadable GC games because the hub on them is 1/16" dia smaller and the machine gouged the hell out of the first track of the game disc.

Is there a reason to preorder games these days? I can goto a store and pickup a game no problem on release, the only thing that is ever out of stock are things such as game consoles. I think they've mastered the art of stamping out enough DVDs so they don't run out.

hmm, but wouldn't resurfacing the disc leave some circular texture or some kind of texture you wouldn't find in a new disc?

GC games don't need to be resurfaced nearly as much as a ps2 game since GC games are much smaller and get scratched up less. Plus there are less owners per GC game vs ps2 game. I think the average GC game has a much longer shelf life than a ps2 game but with the wii, the games are being bought up like crazy. About 2 years ago, GC games just sat there for months now they are gone insanely fast if something good pops up.
