I can't stand Gamestop. The stores are really only good for used games, but the quality of the used titles isn't great anymore (scratched, missing cases, etc...).

Back when online Delivery Confirmation labels were still "fairly" new (several months old), a lot of the PO employees still didn't know about them, and a lot tried to charge me for it. One outright refused, I had to bring in the printout from the website that said "FREE Delivery Confirmation." And many of them would try to scan the barcode into the system, which never worked, either because it was already there, or because their scanners at the registers didn't look for that style of barcode. I think it was another year before I could use them without any problems.

yeah, WTF is the deal with all the missing cases?
i can kind of understand a lost manual here and there, but tons of the used games and movies are missing the original cases.

They take trade-ins on bare discs.

Must've gotten a few people that are dumb, most EB employees I've encountered in their natural habitat aren't animals. They're just extremely bored people.

but how does average joe lose the original cases? it wouldn't surprise me if more than half of the bare-disc trade-ins were stolen out of (or while in) cd wallets.

gamestop employees ftw, my all time favorite moments are:

-telling me not to waste my time with a ps2, because dreamcast was becoming the system of the future

-convincing me not to buy a 360 when i had the unit in hand, with games and controller, took my business elsewhere....

that's because the more owners a game has, the less chances it will be in good condition and come with manuals/cases.

I thought it was pretty funny when I went to a local gamestop to pick up a component cable for my PS3 that I saw on sale on their website for $19.99. I go to the store and it is twice as much. I tell them I saw it on their website for $19.99 and he says: "Oh we don't price match." It's your own website! Ridiculous. So I went over the Circuit City and they price matched gamestop's website, lol.

Also around June 07 GameStop Corp stopped (or strongly discouraged) stores from sending back used games for resurfacing if they had "minor surface scratching".

"It's a used game, people will accept it if it doesn't look brand-new."

Don't even get me started on the giant piles of steaming crap we'd get from the warehouse.

I dont' even bother with gamestop anymore, I only hit up ebay for stuff now. Craiglist too.

I did build up a nice collection with gamestop because sometimes they had deals on gamecube games for like $3-6 in mint with manuals and box, etc but not really anymore.

OK, just reading the flow of that, it seems like half of it was a bit embellished to make a point :) But yeah, they didn't handle that correctly. They should have listened to your email, then called their corporate office to confirm. Would have taken like 10 minutes.

I hate Gamestop/EB so much. I just order online now - Amazon doesn't have smartass fucktards at a counter whenever I buy something.

Did you really expect more from people who work low-paying jobs?
