I guess I am more pro ATi than Nvidia. I say that despite owning a 8800, but I purchased that in December with the intention of getting the R600 when it came. I'll probably hook two 2900s up in a month or so. Anyway I saw the gamespot impressions of the 2900XT and they are really misleading. The sad thing is that a lot of people go to that website and will make a decision based on that article alone:

You might say those are only "Hands on", but gamespot never follows up on hardware and only does hands on. That is all you will see from them on the R600...
Why is that misleading?
It shows benchies extensively on 3Dmark 06, when we all know how misleading it is in the end. The real world benchies are very different from the picture the 3Dmark benchies paint.
The only resolution at which the R600 closes the gap is at 2048x1536. Maybe 1% of the gaming population plays at that. Most stick to 1280x1024 or thereabouts. Some a bit higher and some slightly lower.
We all know that currently the 2900XT is behind in those by a significant margin.
So guess which benchmarks gamespot chose to show. Yes the ones at 2048x1536. Insanity right?
Please go to the article and post in the comments section. Just be honest. It doesn't matter who you support, but be honest. Those benchmarks are total crap.
I made a thread on gamespot. You can post here as well:

You might say it isn't a big deal, but it is. A huge percentage of gamers go to www.ign.com and www.gamespot.com without ever visiting a hardware site. Right now those gamers have the wrong idea.
