<-- invert

It's a matter of perspective. If you think of the crosshair as a mouse cursor, then normal mouse makes sense. Up, down, left, right; business as usual. But if you think of the crosshair as your line of sight and the mouse as your head, then tilting the mouse (head) back moves the line of sight upwards.

Short answer is NO.

Do you invert your mouse for use in Windows?

Push the mouse forwards the pointer goes up

Pull the mouse backwards the pointer goes down.

Just the same as your POV in a FPS ;)

Nope too wierd for me. In flight sims maybe, but for fps style flying like descent or freelancer, I go with non-inverted. Just seems more natural and intuitive for me.

It's a different perspective in a 2D environment than in a 3D environment. Like others have said, it's all in how you view your movement. I have to invert in an FPS, I just can't function if I don't.

Exactly. That's why I inverted from the very beginning.

There is really no "correct" way to use the mouse - it's all about preference I'd say.

I tend to think of the mouse as moving the "chin/weapon" of the character and forward is "chin up" and back is "chin down" :)

Works fine for me and most others by the sounds of things ;)

I would use inverted for flights sims though.

Yep. It comes from my quake/duke3d days and I never felt the need to change. I still own ;)

and no!! unless you grew up playing flight sims i dont see why any other person would find inverting the mouse more intuitive than just using it normally...

Umm IIRC quake and duke3d had the mouse inverted by default. Inverted mouse in FPS is old school. No one said it was more intuitive, its more preference then anything....you eat apples right side up and I eat mine upside down. Still an apple.

No way! I can't aim at all with the up and down twisted. Makes it screwed up cause right and left are still normal.

For all FPS games it's a must for me, same with WoW. I'm also the only person I know that uses the right mouse button to move forward in FPS games. Everyone I talk to thinks that's very strange.

I alpha'd an MMO that had left/right inverted by default and you couldn't change it. I lasted about 5 minutes in that game. Some developers are morons.
