She's the standard social justice warrior, positively sexist and intolerant. Part of the all woman crew who created that abomination of a game "Revolution 60" by Brianna Wu's company. Wu was happy to brag about her deliberate discriminatory hiring practices, and the results speak for themselves. The basic concept of democratizing creation isn't the problem, the agenda which underlies her concern is. I believe she even frames the issue as moving the market beyond "white cis men", which of course is one of their favorite false dichotomies, its white cis men, and everyone else.
If you aren't familiar with the issue, the people she name drops are the usual suspects, from Zoe Quinn to Kiva Bay.. twine game "devs", which as mentioned play the game of co-option. Make a twine game, and now you represent women in tech. Promote and become part of the indie game scene, and now you hold the right to control direction of the gaming industry as moral arbiters. These people aren't so much interested in games as they are interested in what the title allows them to do to push their agenda. Its why they spend more time giving talks than making games.
I'll give this Carolyn credit for learning how to code, that is more than what so many of the others have done, but her ilk have a clear agenda, and its not a good one and the censorship only cements that point.
I'm sure some of the comments were off base, which only makes removing them all the more questionable, what is there to fear.
Beyond that, it is a misrepresentation of history.

Early hobby computing magazines included code people would type in. Learning how to make a BASIC program, a text adventure would be the most basic form of game people would start out making. This twine stuff is down right retro.
