Well games cost 3 to 6 times the the typical movie ticket so if you look at the actual amounts of people playing games versus just the dollar amounts that could give you an inaccurate guess of the numbers of people consuming either media.
Additionally "SJWs" (well just use that term since it's one GGers like) have tried to censor movies and music.... guess what?
You can still find the filthiest and violent music you want to buy (well for the most part unless you're really into out there shit) The same goes for movies. In fact one of the most puerile movies this year was also one of the better reviewed ones. Dead Pool is everything a stereotypical movie critic should have just hated because it's soo violent and childish... yet most liked it maybe it's just a good movie.
Whether you like it or not video games are art and as such there will be people talking about the merits of games as art and any subtextual messages or commentary they have how well done those are in addition to how fun is the game to play.
If people have a problem with that then they'll have to deal with it in the same way that audiences for movies and music had to deal with criticism.
Additionally new experimental forms of games (using the broadest interpretation of the term) doesn't mean that traditional FPS games or other genres of games will shrink.
Just like music and movies there will be more variety than in the past. No one is putting a gun in mouth and making you play an Anita Sarkesian approved video game or shutting down a studio because one of their games is too sexual and/or violent and no one is going to either.
As for pay for good reviews or gifts or advertising affecting reviews? There was a minor controversy involving that prior to gamergate blowing up... only not as many people paid attention because there wasn't a sex scandal involved.
