Never ceases to amaze how ubisoft releases games with such huge hardware demands that look like you are playing on a console. AMD is also showing very poorly in the game, likely due to gameworks.

I think this game is about as optimized as a brick wall across a wind tunnel. Might want to wait a few patches before we start using it as a benchmark.

Good find!

Assassin's Creed Unity is a good graphic design that looks according to their status and offers us a good graphical component that deserves the status of a new generation of games, not only in the series of Assassin's Creed, but also relative to other advanced projects.

Now just if Ubi/AMD would sort out performance issues.
45 fps with no stuttering is just fine for me in AC

I dont have the game so question to anyone that have played the game,

Are those pics compressed and the game looks better in real life or the graphics are that bad ??

I do like that much crowd in the streets, it makes it look real.

Ok. The game is already heavy taxing on hardware. Now they only have to make it look any good and they are done.

Can someone check if the game is not running crypto-mining client in the background?

AMD has a lot of work to do. Nvidia is supreme in AC Unity. GTX 980 is close to 2x the performance of GTX 770. thats amazing. But this game is in dire need of patches to fix a host of issues being written about by multiple sites. the worst part is the performance issues on consoles. thats unacceptable. Ubisoft ought to have sorted out these issues before releasing the game.

It's not just AMD. Nvidia does not run all that great either.
I've seen on youtube single GPU nvidia setups stuttering nicely.

Funny enough high-end SLI setups run the game almost 60fps locked. I say funny enough due to game being partially CPU bound.

Strange. 980 seems to be more than 2,5x faster than gtx770:

Going back trough recent titles that is not the case, not even close to that. Why is that? Are they trying to push sales?

This is the concept of the Gameworks strategy. The code is closed, so Nvidia can control the performance. The developer can't optimise for Kepler without ISA documentation and GPU-ISA disassembler. If Nvidia won't do that in the actual Gameworks shader, than the code will run slower.

The "nextgen consoles" skrikes again. (900P/30fps)

Sabotaged PC ports and useless graphics settings to make it crawl like a snail. While even a dualcore got enough overhead to handle badly coded flash pages in the background.

We're not supposed to be noticing this trend. :sneaky:

The GTX980 has 4GB the GTX770 only 2GB. And nVidia is recommending "texture" on low for less than 3GB:
Low is recommended for graphics cards with 2GB of VRAM, High for cards with 3GB, and Ultra High for cards with 4GB.

Oh and 51FPS for a reference GTX980 with 4xMSAA is much higher than the 43FPS a overclocked GTX980 gets in Dragon Age 3. :awe:

51 avg for the single 980 @ 1080 seems right on the money. Only problem is I'm using a much slower CPU and a slightly higher res at 1920x1200. I have a new 1440 27" coming as my Korean monitor has a backlight issue (I think). So i'm using my old 24" ACER at the moment.

Anywho, Graphics settings Ultra High, MSAA-4X, HBAO+, Shadows PCSS. Bloom On.
Getting an average of 51fps. Seems odd that a 5760K @4.6 doesn't fare better than my rig. I'll check SLI scores in a bit.

Probably a safe bet that I am using different areas and scenes than the benches though. Benefit of doubt.

I have noticed GPU memory usage usually hangs around the 3.5GB range with minor up and down fluxuations.

Other note, I don't understand the downplaying of the graphics in this game. I mean, I've seen a bit better, but I have absolutely seen worse. There is a lot of detail.
I do not like the hair though. It reminds me of straw in some cases.

You people just can't appreciate "cinema." This game clearly looks best at 30 FPS and that's why Ubisoft decided that 30 is as high as 99% of all users are going to get. Now quit complaining and buy the game.

This game doesn't even manage 30fps on the consoles. Tests are showing 20-25fps. The Xbone performs better than the PS4 even though the PS4 has about 50% more GPU grunt and they both have the same CPU. Who knows why that is the case.

So when nvidia says you need an gtx680 to play on low its suddenly ok?
how can you people accept this? you need an 680 to play this game on LOW? wth it looks like crap on low. why do only 600$ cards matter here?

Btw. dragon age is not out yet there are no game ready drivers afaik and we only have 1 benchmarkset. not only does dragon age have already tess. build in it looks also at least as good as ac:u.

what will happen when ubi includes tess. and physx? trisli 980 max oc to play this game at 60fps?

Xbox One CPU is actually faster. 1.75Ghz vs PS4 1.6Ghz.

What? Somebody asked a specific question why a GTX980 is much faster than a GTX770. The reason is the texture setting.
You can play with higher settings on a GTX680.

So, it looks as good as AC:U? What's the matter with the performance then?

what will happen when ubi includes tess. and physx? trisli 980 max oc to play this game at 60fps?
There will be no GPU-PhysX.
