I'm definitely going to get the GameCube. Rogue Squadron 2 looks awesome!

<< Xbox is more powerful hardwarewise. >>

Who cares about specs. Games are what matters, and Nintendo knows that.

I personally think xbox is gonna be the console of the future for several reasons

1. the xbox is easier to program than the gamecube and the ps2
2. microsoft has the ability to attract quality developers (this is probably the most important factor)
3. currently microsoft is doing intense user feedback on its software titles

Gamecube definately. I have played both and can verify that the Gamecube was a much more enjoyable experience. Screenshots don't tell you squat.

What Demon says is true. Screenshots are damn near useless. (Yet MS forges them anyway, huh. :))

Xbox will get off to a slow start, but I think it will push either Sony or Nintendo out of the console market. Nintendo doesn't seem too willing to go online with Gamecube; they will have to since MS and Sony will be touting this feature to no end.

Whichever one has better games for lower prices. That's the reason I bought my PlayStation rather than a Nintendo 64. If Microsoft can convince (read: bribe) developers to get good games out for $30-40, then I won't mind supporting the Evil Empire. ;).

Regarding #1
X-Box is not easier to proram for than Gamecube. They are both very easy. Neither has an advantage.

Regarding #2
The games on most systems will, for the most part, be identical. The exclusive titles that a system has is the important thing. MS may be able to attrat quality developers, but so can the other two systems. What exclusive titles do they have? The two biggest developers that they won't have are Rare and Nintendo, who, in my mind, are unrivaled when ti comes to putting out the best games.

Regarding #3
All companies are getting user feedback. That is nothing new in this industry and provides an advantage for no one.

Agreed, only add Sonic Team. Those three together are reason enough to buy any console.

What new games are nintendo offering that arent just sequels of what they offered at the beggining of n64's time. Seems like they've got the same lineup as they did N64 and then a year from now it will be pokemon stadium XV and Mario Paper V.

I told myself I'd be out of the console market, but after seeing Zelda screen shots, I have to buy a game cube.

a new thread like this is gonna come up about once every 30 days. thats cool though, I'm game.

I may buy a GAMECUBE if they have a killer Mario game at launch (and I don't mean Luigi's Mansion)

but I'll never buy an X-Box or PS2.

I would think around here there would be more support for the x-box. After all, it is running PC hardware, and will have PC developers working for it. Whether or not the kiddies are going to dig it, I dunno, but I want unreal championship dammit!

There is a good chance that whatever shows up on X-Box will eventually be ported to the PC.

Microsoft's X-Box gets my money when it comes out. I just have a feeling that the games will be targeted more to the older, blood-thirsty crowd. Nintendo usually keeps their clean, "shiny" image for concerned parents, since they're the ones who shell out the cash for their kiddies. Although it may just be promises now, the X-Box seems to be catering to the PC gamers.

if I want to play pc games, or PC like games, I'll play them on my damn PC.

X-Box is gonna fail hardcore. It flopped big time at E3. The oddworld game looked ok, but it was running at 15 FPS!!!! LOL

And Halo looked ok, but it was like only 15 FPS as well. What the hell was microsoft thinking showing crap like that? And then the damn thing crashed on them.

heheh LOLOLOLOOLOLOLOLOL

When Gran Turismo 3 comes out early next month, I'll be pulling SSX out of my PS2 and cleaning the dust off the system. :)

I'll buy whichever system can come out with an absolutely badass racing sim (read: NOT mario-f'ing-kart 3, although that series is a hoot) and a mother-of-all NFL game. Oh, and a mother-of-all NHL game. :D
