If summer lasted at least 9 years and covers 3 books, don't you think that fall will take some time before winter hits?

nope. it will be as long or as short as the writers like.

the citadel (the main office of the maesters) had declared this summer, the longest in living memory, over in s2e1. it's a year and a half-ish later, so winter should be arriving soon. there's also the scenes of snow falling in the blasted-out throne room, so maybe the danerys story will do something by then.

edmure tully "spends his wedding night in a dungeon" so frey doesn't intend on killing him. yet.

Some things I missed:

Did we actually see Robb Stark die?

How did the wildlings get through the wall to attack the town?

Come on, you can't be serious. Rob was shot several times, stabbed by Roose, then his headless body was paraded around with his wolf's head at the beginning of the next episode. That was ambiguous to you?

As for the wildlings, did you miss the episode where they climbed the Wall?

AFAIK no one has mentioned a fall season. It might just go from summer to winter in the course of a few days or even a day.

Suddenly Emilia Clarke has a problem with nudity? She didn't have much of a career before GoT and no one is breaking her door down to do anything but GoT. This has the look of someone who is famous for her role and not her acting thinking she suddenly is Cate Blanchett and is an Actress with a capital A.

She is the new Sarah Conner.

Anybody know for certain who killed king Joffrey? Also did king Robert really die the way they promoted in the first season...

Some things I missed:

Did they say Walder Frey has a hostage after the Red Wedding? Do we know who? Did we actually see Robb Stark die?

Where is the Mountain these days?

How did the wildlings get through the wall to attack the town?

The "fire" that Tyrion used against Stannis, did they say that was all they had, or that they didn't have time to make more?

Can anyone fill me in?

considering we watched the Bolton dude stab Robb in his liver "The Lannisters say hello!", after he had been pierced by a handful of crossbow bolts, I'd say he's dead. I also think that was his headless corpse + the head of his dog paraded out on the horse at the end--when Hound & Arya were fleeing. It wasn't clear, but I think that is what we were seeing.

no one knows for certain because it wasn't shown and has been barely addressed. If you really want to know for certain, I suggest you go to the book thread.

Yeah. Arya and the hound killed the guys that were bragging about attaching the wolf head to Robb Stark's body.

I'm on pain meds and sometime forget things. That's why this thread is so important to me.

You know, if the god of light has you burning people, I'd hate to see what his bad counterpart does.

Turning babies into White Walkers? Craster was giving them babies. So either they ate them or they converted them.

the counterpart to the god of light is death. i think the white walkers are related to the "old gods", but idk if the dragons are tied directly to the red god/fire god/ god of light. the braavosi also worship death, but that might be a different death from the god of light religion. the 7 new gods' the stranger is also another death.

1 thing is for sure - magic has returned to the world. a rising tide raises all boats.

It could be like humans, the gods who spend the most time talking about how kind they are pull off the greatest atrocities while the evil gods are remarkably quiet and don't rack up much of a body count.

i think i've figured out sansa's role in the story: she's the psychological torture victim, counterpart to theon's mostly physical torture. we've seen how theon/reek is already broken, so we'll see if sansa also transforms or just has a total meltdown, or just jumps off a tower. the spoiled, ignorant rich girl routine, although convincing, had gone on too long.

Tommen is probably quite excited about the whole being king thing. 😛

No doubt he hated his brother as much as everyone else did for the most part. I can't imagine a psycho big brother like Joffrey was at all kind to him. He was probably one of his favorite victims until he upgraded to killing whores with crossbows.

Maybe I am just in a really good mood today, but I think that was quite easily my favourite episode of the season. It tied off so many loose ends and even went back to loose ends from way before (what happens to the white walker babies). Hell, something even finally happened with the Bran storyline. Awesome stuff.

I'm with you there, I really enjoyed that episode. Most loose ends were answered and plot lines actually advanced.

Overall enjoyed the episode a lot (in no particular order):

-Finally, a Bran segment that pushed the story ahead!

-The entire scene with Brienne receiving Oathkeeper and leaving Jaime was interesting (very emotional for her...hard to read Jaime).

-I liked the story Bronn used to motivate Jaime to visit Tirion.

-I guess we will be seeing a Jon / Bran & Ghost reunion at Craster's (the last time I remember seeing the wolf was season 1 or 2 I think). I also wasn't sure why the "leader" was so insistent on feeding Ghost.

-Assuming Castle Black survives and Jon makes it home...politics in the Night's Watch are about to get interesting.

-I figured after we saw Locke appear he would put a knife in Jon's back...which he has had plenty of opportunities.

-Things are going way too smoothly for Dany. I did like her nailing the "masters" to the posts.

-No way Tyrion stays in prison for much longer.

-Very anti-climatic reveal of who killed Joffrey (even though it was painfully obvious as shown by our discussion after episode 2 in this thread).

-I looked up the actress for Margaery and she is 32, while the actor for Tommen is 16. I am sure even as an actor he hopes to get some close moments.
