I know all good ones are still coming but if you had to vote right now for game already out? Released in 2008 ofcourse.


My personal choice so far is Mass Effect
and I am sure Fallout will take the cake 😉
 
the only "games" i've bought released this year so far are the SPORE creature creator and Bionic Commando: Re-armed and I'm not really sure you'd call those games. I did pre-order STALKER: Clear Skies though.

What were some of the popular ones released this year?
 
This year so far on PC? Nothing has been GOTY worthy just yet. I've mostly been playing Eve Online and Team Fortress 2 for PC all year. This fall should change that with Fallout 3, STALKER:CS, Left 4 Dead, Crysis Warhead, etc.
 
Nothing remotely interesting has come out on PC so far this year. Thank god for Stalker in a week or two.

My guess and hope is Fallout will take it eventually.

I think, by this time last year, we already had Stalker and Oblivion: Shivering Isles. Oh, and Bioshock by Fall.
 
Nothing is jumping out at me for GOTY yet. I've actually stopped playing Mass Effect and have gone back (yet again) to Civ IV.
 
With the absense of maybe GTA4 or MGS for PS3, I think this was the most boring year for PC gamers.

However, yes, I've mainly just been playing TF2 so far this year.

I think the only games I have that came out this year are Lost Odyssey and Ninja Gaiden 2, Mass Effect was end of 2007 I'm pretty sure. I haven't yet played Lost Odyssey, and Ninja Gaiden errored to the point where I can't continue and I'm too annoyed with the fact that I have to replay about 2/3 of the game to ever call it the best game. Um ... I'm highly anticipating Fable 2 though. Kinda annoying that Fallout 3 and Fable 2 are releasing on the same day! I don't get sleep for a few weeks then.

I still play TW Kingdoms. Of course, I think Empire TW will likely be the best game this year 🙂.
 
I've been having a blast with Devil May Cry 4 of course I've only bought 4 PC games this year (Sins of Solar Empire, Mass Effect, GRID and DMC4) but it's definitely the best of the bunch, GRID is also great, Mass Effect had too many crashes for me and when I finally fixed them (by installing the game on Vista) I was already disenchanted with the game (it's too repetitive) so I'll come back to it later, Sins was excellent but it got boring fast, I hope they release an expansion with a single-player campaign soon.

I wouldn't say any of them are GOTY though, I'm eagerly anticipating Spore, Crysis Warhead and Pure in September though.
 
Sins is likely the best so far. Age of Conan could not have shit the bed in a more spectacular fashion. I'm really looking forward to Stalker: CS (aug 28/9) and GTR Evolution (yesterday in Germany, ??? for elsewhere and Steam). I'll check out CoD WW and Fallout 3, likely buying them too.
 
I don't know what the GOTY so far is but I know what the GOTY 2008 will be....

GTA4 in November FTW!!!
 
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky is, definitely, at least so far. I've already seen enough of it, including the final Russian version, to know that it is indeed better than Shadow of Chernobyl which for me has been 2007's game of the year.

Yeah, definitely. This year sucked balls, I bought an expansion for Rome Total War, thats the only PC game I bought.
 
What about GRID? Was that this year? Definately a great racing game.

From what Ive heard about Stalker: Clear Skies, it is a huge disappointment. I'll probably pick it up when its bargain bin like I did with Stalker.

what??? The only thing I've heard is that it's like insanely amazingly epic.
 
My vote goes to DeusEx.Best game I have played(err replayed)this year.Guess it does not qualify though because it was released way back.
