game of the year so far?

Not many new games of interest to me really.

I'd have to go with GRID, as it's the only newer game i've played a lot.

2007 was a pretty awesome year for the PC - hard to beat. Mass Effect is pretty good, although I'm only a few hours in, but I'm not sure I'd call it GOTY just yet. Fallout 3 should be great if it comes out this year. I'm still playing 2007 games 😀 .

I haven't purchased or played any games made in 2008 yet. I think Stalker will be the first and I'm hoping RTCW2 will be out before the end of the year.

Probably Mass Effect, although that game did have some major flaws despite all its good ideas.

I've only played two other 2008 games so far to compare with, C&C3:KW and GRID. I just started Assassin's Creed as well, which looks like it has many innovative gameplay concepts but many aspects of the interface are frankly infuriating to deal with, typical of Ubisoft games these days. 😛

Thus far nothing ridiculously amazing, but fall is shaping up to match last year, and 2007 was IMO the best year in recent memory for pc games.

If I had to pick, Assassin's Creed has been my favorite of the year thus far. I don't think it will end up being GoTY though. Fallout 3, GTAIV, Stalker:CS, bring it!
