Cause I'm a dick and I like to piss people off. If people want to talk about console games, GO TO THAT ****** FORUM. You're a regular over there, you know what it's like if you mention PC games.

Sorry Keith, but "Please refrain from cursing in the non-social forums" has to be one of the unintentionally funniest things I've ever seen. 😀

Is there any chance The Last of Us will be ported to PC?
That was me. And the answer is? I do dislike "console exclusives" and can't see the value; I would NEVER buy a console just to play a game, so what's the point of exclusivity? Seems to me these companies are cutting out profits to be made from other venues (i.e. PC). My opinion is "Too bad, so sad" and move on. There are too many good PC games out there to fret over one "exclusive" game. As for GOTY, I don't see how "exclusive" games can be considered when 3/4 of gamers can't play them.

I doubt Last of us will be ported, Naughty Dog is owned by SONY and keeping that (huge games) in house is a HUGE leverage point. IF it is, it wont be until the PS4 version or a new installment hits the PS4. Drake series was quite successful and never saw PC release.

GOTY has nothing to do with PC or CONSOLE or EXCLUSIVE, its supposed to be the BEST of all of them.. of course if you just want PC only games.. I might go with METRO:last light, as i quite enjoyed it.. Bioshock was way to dumbed down form the previous ones, to easy. Fun to look at though. Tomb Raider was very good, be in the running for sure, i never felt in control enough with it.. just a bit to clunky on interface to make me happy, this "add a button" for every damn thing is getting old and boring the crap out of me..

I assumed as much...anyway, have enough "old" games to keep me occupied until TW3 comes out...STALKER CS, Deus ex HR, Oblivian, Metro 2033, Skyrim, TW2...I'm happy.

Oh, I'm sorry that I was just giving something for people to reference. As I said, it wasn't an absolute list and was missing some indie games that people might feel are GotY contenders.

And if you don't like my attitude, then ignore me - it's pretty fuckin simple. I don't click into PC Gaming to read about console games, period.

Lmao why you mad girl? There's midol for that.

Also, The Last of Us is GotY.

Tomb Raider; it was very good, and since this is the PC Gaming forum and that game exists on PC. Hoping to play the new Batman soon though, so that may take the cake.

I haven't played many games released in 2013. I'm still trying to finish games from 2011 and 2012 thanks to Steam Holiday Sales.

That said, Metro: Last Light was a game I got for upgrading my graphics card this year. Didn't touch it for a long time, but when I did, WOW, did it suck me in. Amazing atmosphere and tension. I don't know how far I am through it, and some of the plot devices seem a bit wonky, but I would say this is the best game I've played in some time.

Tomb raider was also amazingly well done! Great reboot of a famous franchise! I did think that the physics felt like a slightly updated version of the ones used in sleeping dogs though! Same company I guess so makes sense..

I agree! The graphics are amazing and the atmosphere is deadly! Much better than metro 2033 in my opinion! Wasn't expecting it to that good so it was a really nice surprise! Maybe I haven't played as far as you, I'm not done, but I didn't or haven't yet encountered anything that seemed wonky to me! That being said I haven't played in a while so I could just have a bad memory! :hmm:

The Last of Us, hands down. Like reading a good book or watching an awesome movie, I have never had an experience in a video game like I did with TLOU. By the end of the game, I cared for the characters, I empathized with them, I developed stories in my head as to what will happen to them and the society they live in days after the credits rolled. On top of an amazing story, the game was fun and intense as hell to play. The Last of Us, in my opinion, sets the new standard on how video game developers should weave a beautiful story in with top-notch game play.

Bioshock Infinite was an extremely overrated game. It was a pretty game, gameplay was nothing groundbreaking. I never understood why everyone was clamouring over the story, I thought it was a bunch of drivel that gave me no reason to care for the characters or the narrative.

I thought bioshock infinite just had a really good atmosphere overall, as you said it looks nice, but that's a big part of a game for me, not necessarily how graphically advanced it is, but just the way the individual look of different things in the game cultivate a good atmosphere in a game! It had lots of little nuances that made it fun to play! It had some different types of gameplay to it as well I think, Although not revolutionary it wasn't repetitive! Not every game can break new standards or we would be miles ahead of where we are right now already! Games can be good without being outstandingly different! I'm probably biased though because I love steam punk 😛! I do see where your coming from though! And I felt like the game relied on the world and gameplay more than on the story which does dock it a couple points in my book but it wasn't bad! It just felt lacking at some moments! I still enjoyed playing it a lot but I define toy agree it's not game of the year. Not even close.

Nope. That standard was set in the 90s RPG golden era.

The Last of Us is just one of the games I can count on both hands this generation that truly live up.

But I agree, it is the standard I've looked for since SNES/PS1.

When I see game of the year asked, unless specified a platform or type, it is open to all games that came out the current year.

Agreed. We're not saving lives here...there's no reason to get so serious. A great game is a great game, and deserves to be recognized.
