Really? Are you 10? Get over it.

Oh, I'm so sorry that I'd like the thread to be relevant to the section it's posted in. And by most of the responses to the OP, everyone is choosing the console game - so they can have the discussion there.

Indeed... And to add what does it matter if they come out in a week, two weeks, or tomorrow? The point is you haven't played them...

I've played BF4, you know, the beta two weeks ago - most people here have. As for Ghosts, do you think your discussion is going to close immediately or something? I provided a list of titles, that's all - I never even picked one that I thought was GOTY. Take the stick out of your ass.

Honestly I haven't played much:

Bioshock Infinite
Tomb Raider (very little of it)
Saint's Row 4
Rocksmith 2014 (just came out yesterday)

None of which I consider GOTY worthy. Batman comes out this week though and I'll probably love it like I did the other ones. I have a PS4 preordered but I don't see the early titles dethroning Batman in my eyes.

There are a lot of games I really enjoyed but the best overall package that gave me excitment, shock, fun, emotional attachment, & strong visuals and presentation was Last of Us. There are better looking games (crysis 3), games with a story that gets in your head more (bioshock inf), games that might be longer or more fun in some way but Last of US remains the one game this year I can safely say gave me all the things I wanted out of a game.

Yeah it's a console game but this was a GOTY discussion was it not? I saw nothing that says PC GOTY.

Metro: Last Light
or
Bioshock Infinite

I'm liking Metro a bit more though because the combat was actually enjoyable throughout the whole game.

The Last of Us for sure,

for PC it was a bad year, considering what the PS3 got, so I will go with Tomb Raider, lol (a good game, but not normally what I would call "GOTY", but since the options are not all that great...)

No idea, I pretty much only play BF3 (soon to be BF4) exclusively...when I want a change of pace, I fire up Wings of Prey (though I did download war thunder beta, pretty fun but takes some getting used to)

Being in the PC Gaming section, the discussion should be PC games. Funny, over in the Console Gaming section, most of their reactions would be like mine if you brought up any PC exclusive games.

I don't give a flying fucking about any console exclusive games, because I don't have a console - thus, they are not in GotY contention in my eyes or any exclusive PC gamers.

That's nice, and yea, you are probably right, but us "pc gamers" are supposed to be more mature right? anyway I'd say you're outvoted, so moving on. I don't have a 360 or PS3 either, but realize there are more games out there than just PCs.

On the PC, I'd have to throw my vote to Tomb Raider. I played Bioshock Infinite and Metro Last Light only briefly, and they didn't really hold me. They looked pretty and had interesting settings, but the controls in Bioshock were extremely wonky, whereas in TR they were flawless the entire game. There was never a single instances where you were fighting the controls. If only Square had actually made decent DLC or an expansion for it, all we got was a smattering of craptastic multiplayer maps that had no business even exiting in the first place and some skins for Lara.

I only played Last of Us until I met up with Ellie, mostly buying it off the hype. Shrug, the game wasn't that impressive at all. Terrible controls and muddy visuals like most console games. My copy has been loaned out to several co workers, one after another. I honestly doubt I'll ever finish it . . . maybe I'll just want to YouTube movie of it.

Edit - Anyone that votes for a P2W/Mobile game as a GOTY contender will be paying a surgeon to remove my boot from their colon.

Tough vote for me. I didn't really play any game that just totally gripped me this year (except for Underhell, which is a free Source mod so it doesn't really count I suppose).

Bioshock Infinite and Metro:Last Light were both really good games. Of the two, I think I actually enjoyed Infinite a little more, for reasons of artistic direction more than anything.

Out of the games I've played Tomb Raider was going to get my vote but yeah. I saw my friend playing it but I don't want to buy a PS3 just for it. Stupid exclusive BS.

To be fair, platform exclusivity is the only reason why some of these really high-quality games can be made in the first place. Naughty Dog wouldn't have brought us so many great games without being in bed with Sony. That's the trade-off.

For PC only, my vote goes, somewhat reluctantly, to Bioshock: Infinite. The gameplay wasn't that great, but the story/artistic stuff was awesome enough to put it over the top. I've listened to this at least a few dozen times.

I've mainly palyed DOTA2 this year, so that is what I'd pick. However, all my friends would easily say Last of us.

And Dougp, your attitude is entirely x_x given how civil everyone is. Although I must say you reference games that aren't even out for GOTY....and somehow how put Starcraft 2 HOTS as a contender 😀 Asking for a list of GOTY isn't the same as asking for a list of high profile releases....

Yeah I'm struggling to finish it. The art is nice, but I am not digging the gameplay at all.

Tomb Raider was a pleasant surprise, but I don't think it would have been game of the year in 2012, or even 2014's upcoming lineup.

Haven't played much else other than BF3. Steam needs to give me some more $5 games I will never have time to play.

I know this was asked earlier in the thread but I haven't seen an answer:

Is there any chance The Last of Us will be ported to PC?

Oh, I'm sorry that I was just giving something for people to reference. As I said, it wasn't an absolute list and was missing some indie games that people might feel are GotY contenders.

And if you don't like my attitude, then ignore me - it's pretty fuckin simple. I don't click into PC Gaming to read about console games, period.

Fight the good fight!

How about YOU ignore the people who mention console games instead of getting worked up over it? The fact that so many people think The Last of Us is better than every PC game released this year is worth mentioning and I was surprised to see it.

Cause I'm a dick and I like to piss people off. If people want to talk about console games, GO TO THAT ****** FORUM. You're a regular over there, you know what it's like if you mention PC games.
