Oh and the worst one I had was on a cruise ship. Top deck only, couldn't move and it was in the middle of hte ocean.
I guessed jsut off the coast of Florida and it was in the southern Caribbean. What a joke that was.
This was posted about a year ago. I had a lot of fun playing it against students in class in the last few minutes of the period when everything else for the day was done. 🙂
Try the link that is in this thread. Usually the BBC is pretty on the ball, not sure why they are acting like this is something new and not a direct copy of http://www.geoguessr.com/ only made smaller and spammed with links all over the page.
I got some incredibly easy ones with road signs that I Googled. Two of those were on islands that were 500 feet across and another was a small Mexican town. The two that I got lower scores on were Yosemite (I knew it was Yosemite, but Yosemite is pretty big) and a random corn field (I picked Nebraska, but it was Canada).
Breaking 10K is easy without even moving the camera. 20K is what I'm trying to do. Before I realized you could move the camera this was crazy hard. I had one looking out over a bridge into a giant lake. Without moving the camera that's impossible.
3/5 were in Canada, and looked too familiar to US--I only guessed one of those in Canada, but got the wrong border area (other side of the Frenchie state).
closest I got was one location in Norway--I was 200km away from location. It looked like anywhere on the pacific coast, but the signage was all: Flrskitittr and crazy talk like that, so I figured it had to be in Scandinavia.
