Return it ... and then what? be without phone service for weeks? It is not like Samsung is offering loaner phone in the mean timewow...less than 15% of the 1 millions phones were returned...

Each carrier is handling it differently, including loaner phones in some cases (I believe it's sprint).Return it ... and then what? be without phone service for weeks? It is not like Samsung is offering loaner phone in the mean time

I can't see why any carrier would do it any other way really.
As time goes on they're getting more and more competitive. How they handle stuff like this is starting to make a differenceThey're the phone company - they don't have to care. They know you'll still keep coming back.
If a Note 7 was made in China or from a factory other than the one where the bad battery problems came from (in Korea as I understand it) then I don't see why anyone would care if it's an original not affected, or new stock not affected.
^ Yeah that is true, good point.
It's my belief as much as is being made of this right now, it'll be forgotten by most everyone, easily within a year.
Similar to all iPhone 6's were going to bend in everyone's pocket... anyone really concerned about that now?
This may be the 3rd or 4th time this has been said in this threadMaybe Samsung should just arrange so carriers give you a free fire extinguisher with the N7
Thought I saw an update that said the phone there was externally heated intentionally.Samsung's Note 7 Battery Problem Expands to China

Google spells it out pretty clearly: status bar icons have to be white. They aren't allowed to be green, which is the color Samsung plans to use in a future update.
Google isn't actually saying anything. This is one guy who seems to have a crusade against Samsung.Interesting people are in fact getting the green battery icon...Google is saying NOPE it violates some Google API code:
