They already skipped 6. Might as well leapfrog Apple while they're at it.

IMO Samsung should just discontinue the "Note" branding, it's "burnt" now anyways.

Just have the Galaxy S8 (Edge varient only) and have a new S8+ (not to confused with the "Plus" from Apple).

Only news I've seen is apparently Samsung is having other unrelated production line issues due to an earthquake shutting them down temporarily. So. ... more delay. ..

S7 has been on sale for months now, almost half a year. Probably would've heard something before now if there was something up.

Agreed 100%. Would be interesting to know if they sourced other batteries from the plant that made the Note 7 batteries, or it that was their first run,

Saw an article that had a graph showing Note 7 use still increasing (or at worst plateauing) since the recall. I'd wager a lot of people don't want to hassle with getting a temp phone or trading it for a new one, and are just waiting for Samsung to release the updated models.

Sales have already stopped, but the data looks like existing users are by and large still using their phones.

It's been all over the news, and carriers and Samsung have been sending out emails/texts. I don't know how someone could be ignorant of it.

yeah, mines affected. Verizon still has no idea about replacing it. I hate verizon. Maybe I should get an iphone 7+ 256gb. Nah!
