After all the partisan back and forth it was amazing to see Gabby suddenly on the screen and everyone together welcoming her. A shining moment in a dreary few weeks in Congress.

She looks very good after all she has been through.

SHE chose this vote to make her return because she felt strongly about supporting this bill as an expression of her blue dog conservative fiscal view, which should appeal to you spidey but I guess your so blinded by hate that contradicting your own stated values is no problem if it presents the opportunity to bash liberuls. It might be discussing in one respect, but it was great to see her back in the House. I wish her well.

If you really want to be pissed, be pissed at all the leadership. The only reason this vote came down to the last day is because all these politicians wanted TV time. They could have done this same deal a long time ago, but that would not get them on TV, now would it?

Yea, she came out and voted in favor of a bill that FAILED on the Democratic side. You're really becoming the biggest partisan hack on the GOP side of these forums if not beyond.
 
Spidey's wrong that this is a partisan issue, but there's definitely a dog and pony show element to this. Congress is hated right now. They will do anything to distract the electorate from their scumbag theatrical performance over the past couple weeks. I'm sure both parties were happy about this, for some legitimate reasons as well as some self-serving reasons (regardless of party).

I recall in early June she was described as having "full compreshension" but not full communication yet, i.e. not speaking in complete sentences. It's possible she is borderline mentally ready at this point, or perhaps not. It's kind of a remarkable recovery either way.

As an aside, I notice that Jared Loughner was found not competent to stand trial, and may sit in a psych ward indefinitely.
