Jared and Norway guy probably suffer from the same type of psycho problem. Everyone but them is crazy, in their minds.

Nah, the Norway guy's manifesto is far too coherent for it to be a case of schizophrenia. His beliefs are actually pretty stereotypical of the European right. Only his advocacy of violence in pursuing the goals is extreme. Norway guy was also influenced by very specific right wing thinkers and writers in Europe. By contrast, Loughner holds a bunch of borderline incoherent ideas and does not really identify with any ideology and he reportedly paid little attention to mainstream politics. His sole influences were conspiracy theory websites. Also, Norway guy's crimes involved a lot of careful and meticulous planning whereas Loughner's were pretty close to impulse crimes with very simple prior planning. That said, he may also be faking schizophrenia. Happens all the time.

That will be her decision if she wants continue and for the voters if they still want her to represent them...

She still has more brain activity than Michelle Bachmann.

Her and Palin and Angle combined even.😉

Welcome back and congrats on your ongoing recovery Gabby. Go for it.

edit - I went through a near death injury myself. Ever since that time I see every new day as a day worth living to its fullest and one in which I never take for granted. I think she feels the same way. Good on her.

Unfortunately not more than Obama.

Nicest thing you ever said about Obama

They marched her out for the "symbolic" vote, we democrats care about you!

Fucking disgusting of democrats if you ask me to use her for political gain. Disgusting.
Well that's why we didn't ask you, we all know what a hateful low browed drooling hack you are.

it probably sounds heartless, but if she's actually doing her job so seldomly that showing up for a single vote is front page news, maybe she should resign to focus on her recovery while someone actually does the job she's not doing right now.

I recall in early June she was described as having "full compreshension" but not full communication yet, i.e. not speaking in complete sentences. It's possible she is borderline mentally ready at this point, or perhaps not. It's kind of a remarkable recovery either way.

As an aside, I notice that Jared Loughner was found not competent to stand trial, and may sit in a psych ward indefinitely.

Agreed, and Congress Critters talk too damned much anyway.

I don't care for what she voted. That she came out and voted at all is a beautiful, beautiful thing. I hope she retains her seat, if she wishes to continue, even if she never regains full communications skills.

Yeah lets have someone with half their brain missing running the country. We tried that for 8 years with Bush and look where it got us.

Did she scold the Democrats for their use of harsh rhetoric against the republicans in the recent debates? E.g. that the republicans want to destroy the world, republicans are holding america hostage, tea party = terrorists, etc.

At this point I'd happily trade brains for ethics in Congress. Our Congress Critters are smart enough to know that we're mostly greedy, short-sided bastards willing to vote for those who promise us goodies paid for by someone else, anyone else. What we need are 535 Trumans, who will say I'd love to be able to do that for you, but nowhere in the Constitution does it give me that power.

At least she was shot in the head. Traditionally a non-vital area of a Democrat's person.

You started it.

I was more than happy for the Congress and especially for Ms. Gffords but now we must sink to this?

When you're done taking a shit, do you wipe your mouth?

She survived and believes herself capable of doing her job, so she got back to work. I'd think that would be applauded as loudly from "your side" as any.

Better a dead brain than a dead heart I say.

:awe:

Sorry. I am not going to get envolved with this.

I was cheering the return and recovery of Ms Giffords. I think it a wonderful thing. God bless her and those that love her.

That is all.......and enough

is 1 vote in 8 months "doing her job"?

I feel sympathetic for her, but imo, she should really step aside and focus on her recovery if she's incapable of serving the office she was elected to.

makes me flash back to when Ted Kennedy was sick and refused to step down from his seat and we ended up getting stuck with Scott Brown as a result.

There really should be a process where one can designate a proxy to serve for a limited time where necessary due to illness or injury.
