The 7900GT is not twice as fast as the 7800GT, not even close. Good get some solid numbers to prove it rather than a link to what someone says in a forum.

There is nothing wrong with what I linked to. HDR and 8xS AA put the cards under maxmum stress (and in the case of 8xS is precisely how I use my hardware). I'd have put some links fro tom's vga charts in too, but, like most he doesn't take 8xS into account.
If you lot want to spend hundreds on hardware then tootle around @ 4x MSAA, be my guest - I won't be joining you.

Basically you have cherry picked a rare benchmark under a certain circumstance to support your BROAD claim... Lovely... FUD.
Well, I guess nvidia supporters are allowed a *tiny* amount of exaggeration once in a rare while, to counterbalance the FUD the fanatics spew forth on a daily basis.
Regardless of what you may think of the settings I employ, they can be employed, and with the performance impacts indicated above to boot, so cry me a river.

And who cares so much about fudging on a benchmark when both teams do it? IMO both sides are deceitful, half the time when I run out and try ATI I encounter multitudes of quirks due to their pathetic drivers.
And I still havent seen Ackmed post a negative thread about Crossfire, when there are multitudes on the net saying how much it sucks.
In the end having a screen that doenst flicker, among other issues leads me to use NV even if Gstandfor lied.

If you play Quake 3 all the time than I would give your statement some merit, but if you're talking about playing modern games at a half-way decent resolution than you must think that fps should be like golf scores. Even with SLI's 7800GTs@550/1300 there were only a few older games I played that didn't turn into a slideshow with 8xS enabled.
When I first saw your posts I used to get somewhat irritated about the wild conjectures you made. Now I just laugh to myself knowing that most everyone on the video forum recognizes your onesidedness and takes about 10% of what you say as truth. In this case I imagine it would be the first sentence of your statement.

I'm not sure if you are aware of the flickering ATI issue Elfear? But its no "untruth". It might be an issue that ATI fans might want to appear as part of "Crusaders Untruths" but it unfortunately reality.

I cant fix simple problems? Sure thing noob. Thats just insulting and based on what? With NV there IS no flicker problem to fix. Guess you like buying products you have to tinker with to get working properly. I dont, because I recommend hardware to family and friends and I want the least problematic stuff available.

As far as my claims about Crossfire sucking, Shaidar from Rage3D could def vouch for that. But I dont know a ton of people with Crossfire because they dont really sell any in comparison to SLI rigs (and good for ATI, because it'd only further their bad rep).
When Crossfire works, it works and is great. My point was, Ackmed has never posted a single thread about Crossfire problems or issues, or a complaint.. when everyone else I know has plenty of reasons to complain about it. Not so for SLI, its simply more mature.

SLI works, but isn't exactly problem free, just swing by the nvidia forums... Funny how you who has neither Crossfire nor SLI seems to be an authority.

Hmm. I'd never heard that before. Sounds like an issue with either dual monitors or CCC or both. That would be annoying if it was flickering a lot but it sounds like using ATT fixes the problem. The only people that wouldn't help are the Crossfire users who have dual monitors. I have never had that flickering occur except on startup when CCC is initializing. Not sure what the other guys are doing different.
Regardless, the way you talk about the problem makes it sound like a wide-spread epidemic. Not really an accurate description of a problem experienced by only a few people. Certainly not a very good reason why you would never recommend ATI to any of your friends.

I liked my two 7800GT's and had to "tinker" with them to stop them from shimmering at me and therefore render a scene properly. Besides, IIRC the first waves of the 79** series were very problematic. Artifacting at stock, locking up, crashing computers, etc. They were the pinnacle of a cheap GPU, both in price and in manufacturer quality but I didn't see you complaining--go figure.
Nvidia and ATI both are not idiot proof. You have to play with settings on both sides to get optimal or sometimes even proper functionality.
For you, ATI might be inferior. Attempting to claim that an entire prodcut is altogether inferior without specifying that you are only talking about yourself is your normal post-style. You don't even need to write anything in your posts because everyone already knows what it's going to say. You might as well just post nothing and let everyone look at your sig becasue that sums up your logic without your annoying trolling.
As far as the flicker issue, I have never had that problem even after using an X1900XTX, 9250, X1900GT, X1900XT, and an X1950XTX so that one is news to me.

like in all forums, what you see there are the clueless, who have a hard time finding the video control panel, let alone adjust anything inside it.
I've found SLi to be a joy to use, frankly and never encountered an "error" that couldn't be corrected with an appropriate setting.
I really don't know why this is being brought up in this thread anyway. If you want to talk about trolls and trolling, look for those who drag nv30 and AEG in at every opportunity, and create a page and a half of troll posts just because i said "nvidia likes to roughly double their performance generation to generation".

My last 2 cards were an X1800XL and an X800GTO2...I NEVER had ANY flickering problems. Like Elfear said, you are making it out to be an epidemic when it is not the case.
Remember all those defective 7900 cards?? Now THOSE were PROBLEMATIC. vsync issues with SLI?? shadow problems in certain games?? So I guess NVidia sucks because they have some isolated (barely) issues as well?? Please...don't be so pathetic and use a flickering issue (which is not wide-spread) in order to justify your fanaticism/fanboyism.
It was brought up because Crusader decided to bring up a "flickering" issue as a way to deem ATI as inferior...of course BOTH companies have issues so what's your beef with that being brought up?? Why don't you spank Crusader for bringing the flickering issue up then if you think this thread should only be about G80?
