What are you talking about.. the G5 excels at video editing with FCP and the MPEG2 compression rate is supposed to be insanely good.. There's also a G5 enhanced version of DIVX in the works (with 64bit processing, optimized for dual cpus as well)...

Funny, this PCMag review says just the opposite: It has the dual G5 faster than a dual Xeon 3 GHz for video encoding, but losing for Photoshop.It sounds like you plan on using mainstream apps.
