Man, you should dump her and find a woman that already knows how to cook. When you get older you dont need the agrivation when you come in and are like "Yo Biatch, get me some dinner" and she goes, "I cant cook my dearest husband" Then you slap the sh*T outta her.

honestly, does she/you have the Food network?
thats THE best place to learn a lot and fairly simple. there is a show called "How To Boil Water". its really basic but shows some good techniques for beginners.
also, there are some great books out there written by TV cooks/chefs for beginners as well.
Would she be opposed to doing it together? like finding a mutually pleasing recipe and working on making it together?
Just an FYI, dont start her off BAKING (which is very percise). just try finding an easy recipe for chicken or pasta!

I kinda have the same problem. I can cook OK, but my wife is just learning. She really only got interested in cooking the last year or so. Of course, if I come it to show her how to cut this, or peel that, she gets upset. I'm pretty it would be the same if she tried to show me how to mount a motherboard, or install a CPU/HSF.
The show "how to boil water" sounds perfect for her.Thanks.
It's kinda funny, because if I tried to help with the cleaning she wouldn't say a damned thing.Originally posted by: armatron

you described the problem really well.
She'll be doing something totally wrong, and I will try to let her know.. in the nicest way possible.. and she gets pissed off
she can be really... feminist... and I think she gets the attitude of "I don't need a man to tell me what to do/how to cook"
