are there any good, SIMPLE websites she can go to for recipes to get the hang of it?

Lola

honestly, does she/you have the Food network?
thats THE best place to learn a lot and fairly simple. there is a show called "How To Boil Water". its really basic but shows some good techniques for beginners.
also, there are some great books out there written by TV cooks/chefs for beginners as well.

Would she be opposed to doing it together? like finding a mutually pleasing recipe and working on making it together?

Just an FYI, dont start her off BAKING (which is very percise). just try finding an easy recipe for chicken or pasta!

Man, you should dump her and find a woman that already knows how to cook. When you get older you dont need the agrivation when you come in and are like "Yo Biatch, get me some dinner" and she goes, "I cant cook my dearest husband" Then you slap the sh*T outta her.

My first newsletter has the main ariticle call "How to slap a Biatch 20 different ways". Others include "Ho-Ho-Hungry", "Dont make me come in there" plus much more

Hey, Armatron, you should just get her a book. I also like Lola's idea. It never occurred to me that I should watch Food Network to learn how to cook. Perhaps that is because I just don't like to be surrounded with so much food talk all the time. I prefer to read a recipe book; but if your gf doesn't mind watching how to cook on TV, then get her started.

By the way, I think that she's being a little unreasonable. The fact that she cannot cook could actually be used to your advantages. It's an opportunity for intimacy if she would allow you teach her. She rejecting your invitation makes it more technical (provided you aren't yourself technical); and you miss out an opportunity to be closer. My opinion, of course.

I would not advise COOKING nude... eating nude = good, cooking nude = dangerous!
We (Fiancee and i ) try cooking at least one meal together each week and its a blast!

Tell her to go buy her a book... Like someone else said, Food network is a good place too... they might be a bit advanced right off though.

It's all fun and games until you cook something in oil while you're naked. :p

My wife is very old fashioned in this regard. She wants to cook and she wants me to relax while she does so. But when we first got married she did not know how to cook. At all. But over the years she learned from my mom and her grandmother. Now she's terrific.

So, Armatron, just be patient. It'll come eventually.

I kinda have the same problem. I can cook OK, but my wife is just learning. She really only got interested in cooking the last year or so. Of course, if I come it to show her how to cut this, or peel that, she gets upset. I'm pretty it would be the same if she tried to show me how to mount a motherboard, or install a CPU/HSF.

The show "how to boil water" sounds perfect for her. :D Thanks.

you described the problem really well.

She'll be doing something totally wrong, and I will try to let her know.. in the nicest way possible.. and she gets pissed off

she can be really... feminist... and I think she gets the attitude of "I don't need a man to tell me what to do/how to cook"

It's kinda funny, because if I tried to help with the cleaning she wouldn't say a damned thing. :D

Like I said, I'm guessing it's one of this pride things, like she's supposed to know how and doesn't need my help. I probably wouldn't appreciate her helping me with the computer. As long as I know more than her this is OK, but when she shows me something I'll have to STFU.

Now, how to recommend a show called "how to boil water" w/o spending the night on the couch. ;)

I probably cook better than your g/f. LOL
you really need to dump her if she can't cook.
