Cmon! BE HONEST. I know you can do it.

Those threads suggest being gay. I don't follow OT much, but from what I've seen, rbloedow does bring his sexual preferences quite a bit into threads.

I don't have a problem with it, but I can understand why other people might. Most of the world isn't ready for gays to be this upfront about it. The internet is different and here we can be a bit more open about our opinions and feelings. I doubt he would walk down a street screaming "I'm gay". In many countries around the world, it's a crime to be gay.

Just be glad you're living in America. Also, many people have a legitimate gripe about gays being so upfront and loud about their gayness. It's because they are.

Are straights open about their manliness? Sure, but since most people are straight, it doesn't rile people up. Give it time, people are not ready for this yet. Also, some gays seem to have a mindset that if anyone questions them, they're automatically homophobe and a bigot. That is quite untrue.

BTW, these gay pride rallies where gays openly kiss other men *OR* women (if a lesbian) hurt their cause as it turns many people off. Let's not even get into the unsafe sexual practices and the unproportionatly high AIDS rate among gays.

Arcenite, watch your fvcking mouth you fvcking idiot.

Uh oh, I said Gay. Here we go again. Rbloedow can throw the word around like it's a f!cking tennis ball.

The saddest part is you still don't even realize where you went wrong in that statement. "Make a gay's life more miserable than it already is" ? Are you a fvcking dumbass?

If he said "make your life more miserable than it is" to another poster in any other context, no one would have a problem with it.
He could have said that to RB in another context and no one would have a problem with it. But he didn't, he said it in a particular context which carries a particular set of widely held notions about 'just exactly how miserable gays must be'.

Bad defence, it really doesn't hold water.

Sorry, but thats bvllshit. If you want acceptance and tolerance from me, you've got it. But if you want your sexual or racial or any other personal characteristic to make others have to treat you like you're special, carefully choose their words around you, etc., then too fvcking bad. The world didn't work that way before you came out, and it doesn't work that way after. Gay or not, you're still an adult. Grow up.

You wanna be treated special? Ride the short bus.

Well-said. I just spent 10 minutes editing something censored out of my reply...I've no idea what. Apparently, AT has become very liberal and pro-Moore lately.

I am having trouble saying what is on my mind. Apparently a lot of people are a much better person than I, or are too much of a pvssy to admit otherwise. I am personally not bothered by one's sexual orientation, but how they express it. I understand all of you who are saying "omg you idiot, you talk about being straight all the time" but really, no I don't. What I believe Xio's point to be is, while no one gives a sh!t that you're gay, we don't really want to hear about it in every single post. You only need to mention it once, no one will forget it.

IMO the quickest way to make a straight man uncomfortable is to act gay around him, and I would assume the same could be said about a straight woman and gay woman.

We get it already.

The point is, he singled out a single group. If he had said, "Make an Asian's life more miserable than it already is", you'd hear quite the uproar.

I have no tolerance for a bigot. Burn

Entertain me as to why an asian would have a miserable life as a generalization. Meaning to what I said was the fact that *the g word* have a harder time putting up with the pressures of the real world.

You don't even realize that you're digging yourself deeper with every reply? So your defense is that gays are more susceptible to failing in the real world, and that their existence must be one of absolute misery? Or is it just that gays are social outcasts?

Idiot. <-- backspaced that sh!t a few times, but I couldn't resist.

I guess I'd have to be gay to understand how life could be easy with everyone poking fun behind my back.

Edit: not as an individual, but knowing my "kind" is not accepted by many.

Deeper and deeper.

I remember a recent post from someone regarding throwing monkey sh!t, but I won't get into that now.

I quit.

But since the majority of people are straight, you can either be flamboyant and make everyone feel uncomfortable (and in turn be somewhat of an outcast) or try to keep it to yourself and close friends. It's a fact of life, no matter how unfair.

Take that one guy on Last Comic Standing, for example. All of his material was about being gay, and for some reason people thought it was funny. I seriously wish I could punch that dude in the face. He annoys the hell out of me. I never heard one joke that entire show that didn't have to do with him being gay.

This is not directed at anyone in these forums but just something I wanted to point out since we're on the subject.

Of course I can't speak for all gays, but I *KNOW* that homosexuality makes an insanely large number of heterosexual people extremely uncomfortable.

I am not flambouyant in real life, nor has *any at all* ever asked me if I am gay IRL, without having prior knowledge - my actions and lifestyle do not give it away. However, this is an online forum - here's where I can relax, without fear of repercussion (for the most part). I don't want to be banned for anything, so I don't go too over the top... but if I were to be banned... oh well, I guess I'll spend more time elsewhere, or create a new account. Here is where I'm able to throw crap in people's faces, to get their reactions, without the risk of being physically assaulted for it (at least in the short term)... so why should I care if I make people on ATOT uncomfortable with my sexuality? I really don't intend to do that - and honestly, I hadn't talked about homosexuality a huge amount until the last couple of weeks. The difference? I realized that it's just an online community... I do value my reputation around here and on other forums, but why not act however I feel?

IRL, I do keep to myself and my friends. It would be stupid to do otherwise - there are too many insane people out there that would go apeshit if I were to be flambouyant in the wrong situation... not that I'd ever want to anyway, for that matter.

I know that this thread is about rbloedow, not myself, but your post was about gay people as a generalization - and that's what I'm responding to.

I've never had the need to 'come out' about anything, and I don't forsee having to do so, because like most of us, I'm attracted to the opposite gender.

If you want to make a pointed comment about someone's sexuality, race, religion, whatever, then YOU bear the responsibility, not them.

Go ahead, call RB pathetic, stupid, whatever you want, and you will see the same reaction as with any other generally well liked poster on these boards. Use his sexuality as some sort of launching point for an attack, and you deserve all the sh1t that flies your way in response.

I'm not completely sure that arcenite was trying to do that, but I am[/] certain that you are. Congratualtions, you're an idiot.

That's most DEFINITELY a first for me!! That's really cool...talk about being one of a kind! :D

Well, I can't speak for the rest of the world, but here in these United States, the gays rule the big cities like New York, San Francisco, Seattle, etc..you know; anywhere public transportation goes.

But as for the REST of the country, we still prefer that people that know that Tab A goes into Slot B be in charge, as opposed to Tab A goes into the Rear Fold of Tab A.

Ok - I don't see how anything rbloedow or geekdrew said was offensive. At the most, they are excited that they found each other (maybe even love) on a geek forum.

Funny... there were no threads trashing geekbabe and Red Dawn's relationship when they allegedly got together. ... and nothing is grosser than old folks bonin'. ;)

Why then are rbloedow and geekdrew treated differently?
Why was this thread created?

It is simply because they are gay. They are different from the majority of you undersexed losers, and you bigots just can't take it.

Grow a thicker skin, folks. Seek to be offended, and you shall find offense.

It is not like rbloedow posted a thread that said "OMG 9 days until I get to glaze geekdrew like a Krispy Kreme donut"

That would be offensive. ;)

So... are ya? ;) j/k Sorta.

Then you should be prepared for those reactions don't you think? And you should except THEM just as you apparently expect people who are NOT gay to except your life style.

You are jumping the gun, once again. This has nothing to do with liking or disliking gays. You and many other people are failing to see that. What this has to do with is reminding everyone on internet forums about your sexuality and if it's ok to be so open about being gay, why isn't it ok to be open about being uncomfortable around the unusual.

I think a lot of gay people don't realize that homosexuality makes people uncomfortable. It makes me uncomfortable. I don't want to see two dudes kissing, yet I don't care if a guy and a girl are kissing. So what. To me, its natural. Just like to gay people, being gay is natural.

If you don't care if you make people uncomfortable, who are you to tell me what I can say about things that make me uncomfortable?

There's a difference between attacking a person or a minority and just being yourself. I don't recall creating any threads with a topic such as "arcenite is a complete asshole that ought to be banned just because he has the mental capacity of a two year old"... even though it may have crossed my mind. The difference in you and I is that I just ignore the things that annoy me or I otherwise do not wish to encounter... I don't attack them for that fact, unless they attack me first.

My girlfriend has about 5 or 6 gay friends. They are all incredibly flamboyant. They are honestly broadening the lines between gays and non-gays. Gay or not, someone that talks about "tapping that hot sexy man's ass" in front of me will make me uncomfortable. Same with "tapping that hot sexy girl's ass". It's rude, we're not 9 years old anymore, and STOP ACTING LIKE THAT. It's not even a 'cultural' thing. You leave high school talking and acting normal but being secretly gay... you arrive at your ultra-liberal college and wake up the next morning acting TOTALLY different. That tells me you do it for attention.

I never talk about having sex, or hitting anything

Have you actually even had gay sex yet. actuall penetration?

so only anal sex is gay sex? what about hand jobs, blow jobs, kissing with a same-sex partner? that is all gay sex, to me. not all gay people have anal sex.

But Geekbabe and Red Dawn are not gay. They are heterosexual. A normal, natural, acceptable, relationship. Of course, "normal, natural and acceptable" only pertains to 99% of the population that ARE actually "normal, natural and acceptable." I.E. not gay.
