Baseless speculation. It's just as likely that his family immigrated at some point, passed through Ellis Island, and had their name "Americanized" like so many countless immigrants did from all over the globe.

No, not baseless at all seeing how the majority of black people in America's ancestors were brought here on slave ships. While it technically is possible sure, there's no way in hell anyone with half a brain would think "it's just as likely." My speculation is based on history where yours is based on somebody who apparently believes there are as many black people in the US by choice as ones who came here on slave ships. A rational person would side with my speculation. If you honestly believe what you said we don't need to continue this conversation.

I don't get people. Just had to go through taking someone's information and was told 'Franklin' was their slave name and they go by 'Fracone' (details changed)....

Guy is 28 years old. His name came from his parents.

People wonder why racism will never die.

What's your job?

Alkemyst, have you been hanging out with spaceman? What paperwork and why are you talking to slaves?

It was for a side job to repair a computer. I was getting his info down.

He never confirmed and hasn't called back. He was a bit 'iffy' anyway and I'd be just as happy not doing this job.

I've decided that my kids will have extremely simple and short names. Think of all the hassle and time they will save throughout their lives by not having to spell out or clarify them to other people. I can't do anything about their last name but I can at least make their first name easy.

Bob Marley was a pothead, and the fact that you quote anything of his in reference to being profound is kind of ridiculous.

On that note, I want my reparation check for the mistreatment of my Irish ancestors.

those reparations were already paid when the Kennedy's ascended their various thrones.

sorry.

Pat and Chris are extremely easy names.

we use tricia and bubba (or chris). chris got the nickname bubba because a friend of ours is called that. My son will fallow him around and copy him. So people started calling him little bubba. sigh my son gets a hick nickname.

The kids have to use the full name on all paperwork. My last name has 11 letters so her name takes up the top of the paperwork hehe

I'd expect a hick nickname based on the stories you have posted...my money is Jerry Springer will be sending an agent by some day.

Wasn't your sister-in-law and her husband trying to scam your in-laws, or something? How'd that all turn out?

well my in laws moved to Kentucky. They did manage to scam them out of like 10k in office furniture and computers. i'm not sure on the details since nobody will talk about it with us.

its amazing. my wife is sane, manages to get real jobs and keep them (was at last job 8 years before laid off) and has good credit. the rest of her family?well when you hear redneck or white trash thats them.

You should have been like this is my slave owner name. Let me tell you my real name...

I actually said some things to this dude. However, stating those here would have either: 1) BULLSHIT or 2) ASSHOLE.

He never called back so I think he understands.
