switching to GSM PRL (Auto) radio mode, using the calibrated screen setting in the latest cyanogen mod, and using an udervolted kernel all helped IMMENSELY. i went from having ~35% when i left work at 6pm to having $75%. (after about 10 hours off the battery). i no longer have to worry about it dying on a night out.

you've probably got a bad battery.

done all of the above.
Android just sucks if your reception is only 1-2 bars, since it will drain your battery FAST!

Oh did not know that. My reception drops to 0 sometimes at various spots at my school cause of the old ass buildings.

My friend who had a 3G had horrible battery. Then he got a N1 and that has horrible battery. My Epic 4G's Super AMOLED destroys my battery too

It doesn't matter what phone you have, if you constantly have low reception, it's going to drain your battery faster.
