And it continues. For the record, I retract my speculation on whether or not the vaccines could make your immune system worse or the virus stronger.

I just. Do. Not. Know.

Is such a thing really so hard to say, people? That we don't know everything?

I remember getting the flu once way back when I was like 10 or something. I remember getting the flu shot way back when I was 10 or something.

Although I will admit it did worry me a bit reading stories of guys going into the hospital with the flu and coming out a corpse. I just don't see that as the norm though.

This Flu season has claimed 12 lives in Indiana and now turned deadly in the City of Indianapolis:

Marion Co. reports first flu death, announces hospital visitation restrictions

NDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 17, 2014) – The Marion County Public Health Department announced its first flu-related death Friday and will mandate temporary visitation restrictions at Indianapolis-area hospitals.

Earlier Friday, the state health department said 11 people across the state had died of influenza-related causes.

In response, the Marion County Public Health Department said all hospitals and health networks in the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety would implement Tier 1 of the Patient Visitation Policy, the least restrictive option that was developed in 2009 during the H1N1 outbreak

Currently, Indiana is in the “widespread” flu category as monitored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Marion County health officials also recommended that residents get flu shots, saying it’s not too late to get one.

Life's a crapshoot. I've drove close to half a million miles and never needed my seatbelt to save me. But I still wear one every day. I've never needed homeowners insurance but a couple dozen people in my office saw their town turned to rubble back in November from a tornado.

Most people aren't going to die from the flu but hospitals are overwhelmed with people taking up ICU beds nearly every one of which never took the time or effort to get a basic vaccination.

Your choice.

Fuck that;haven't had the flu since 15..and that was many moons ago.I'm also closer to the upper age limit than lower.I've been around people that get the flu,I don't. 😛

Never had a shot, haven't ever had a flu. I work with people who are sick all the time but I stay away from them and try to keep my hands clean.

The polio vaccine was proven effective. The flu vaccine has never been proven effective, so far.

except that it always has been.

every year. forever

here's a hint:

polio /= flu

stop reading online Bullshit from crazy people and pretending you know anything about biology. because you sound like a dirt-eating idiot when you make statements like that.

sorry, but you do. and that is a fact.

Last flu season, HR offered "free" flu shots for us and about 15-20 people got the shot (except a few like me). Four out of those 15-20 people still got the flu. :whiste:

the flue, or symptoms?

and lol...even if they actually got real flue (very unlikely), that is beyond successful.

you people and your lack of numbers.

I expect better from this place, but every season, here come the crazy dumbfucks.

every goddamn season.

😀

She said in the beginning she hoped to recover. Another media win and the pharmacy companies profit!

More flu shots!

Seriously, getting a flu shot is just going to make a virus get better. So unless you are at risk skip it. I get asked at almost every grocery store and shop with a pharmacy in it: "Would you like a Flu shot today?"

It's all profit.

Influenza is a virus.

this isn't a bacteria that replicates with plasmids, dude.

you need to go back to that "biology" course that you keep claiming hat you attended.

jesus tap dancing christ. it's Bio 101. stop pretending.

Bro, where did I say the FLU or Influenza was not a virus??!?!?!

So is MRSA, VRSA, etc.

Keep pumping unneeded vaccines and antibiotics into people and watch the best at evolving survive.

It's probably above your head and pay grade, but this is a planned initiative.

MRSA and VRSA are bacterial not viral.
22 flu deaths in Arkansas so far this year.
I got the four strain flu vaccination but I still got this nasty cold.
